My apologies Jeff! Please read this lengthy post all the way through.

I've been camping and wheeling for the last 2 weeks. Between the storms last weekend with a river running through my tent, late night wheeling, striking out while spending all day Sunday trying to diagnose an electrical problem for a guy that drove his rig on to the trailer to join me the day before and a trailer tire flat in a construction zone on the way home Monday, I was pretty tired and grumpy. Reading yet another post from you about the lack of activity in the KS or KC thread, which seems to happen quite often, just rubbed me the wrong way.

The main point is that most of the KC area guys are using some other form of social media to communicate. Obviously you're not going to convince your Jeeping buddies to post up in here. I have invited you to multiple TAC wheeling or meet events to get to know you better but I have only seen you once and never wheeled with you. I've even let you know about other forums for KC that are very active. If you want this thread to thrive and build into a community you'll need to keep your posts positive. If your schedule doesn't work for the events I post up, post something to do that works with your schedule. I'll make it if I can and drag some others with me.

Just because my rig shows a little trail rash and is more capable doesn't mean I won't hang with the guys that want to keep their daily driver pristine. I had a blast spotting newbies, stock rigs and mildly built Tacomas, 4runners and FJCruisers during the day the last 2 weeks in Arkansas. We were running trails with multiple lines of difficulty and most were amazed at the difficulty levels they could do with a good spotter. I let newbies drive my rig at times on hard trails as I explained the lines they should use and took those willing as passengers on the extreme trails at night. The only damage occurred when a newbie let a stranger that was not with our group spot him through a difficult line while I was instructing his daughter on how to drive my rig up to the next safe spot to get out and walk back for spotting him. Fortunately I had all the tools to get him off the trail, he made a parts run and some guys from Houston helped put everything back together after dinner so that he could wheel the next day and drive home.

Next weekend, Oct 27-29, I'll be at Tuttle Creek ORV for the Tornado Alley Cruisers Mike Sears Memorial Run event.

Sat Nov 4th, I'll be at KS Rocks for their park maintenance fund raising event.

Sun Nov 5th, If I can squeeze it in I'll be at the Stocker/No Locker event at Moonlight Racing Off Road Park near Sullivan, MO spotting rigs.

Post up if you can join me at one of these events.

I'll be heading down to KRocks on Sat Nov 4th the Kansas Krawl. Should be a lot of fun seeing some carnage!

Apparently we can camp there for the event Fri and Sat nights. I'll head down Fri late afternoon but I will need to roll out Sat late morning for a wedding that afternoon.

Sounds like a plan. I'll be heading down there early Sat morning with a couple of other guys. Will have to keep an eye out for you when I get down there.

I can't wait to start wheeling my Tacoma. I haven't taken it out much because I've been making sure I have all the basics. Saving up during this deployment right now. Just ordered Mobtown sliders and I'll have my winch and extended travel suspension before then. Too bad I only have an SR5 so I don't have A-Trac or lockers, but oh well...

I think I am going to do. I have a stock 2017 sport. I really just want to go to learn from others, I really know nothing about all of this so I figure good way to ask and learn? I assume I can just jump in with some people and learn what they have and like and don't like before I start doing anything to mine?

Also, if anyone interested I have some predator tube steps to sell

Anybody looking to meet up and wheel sometime? I'm in Topeka but don't mind driving a bit. Minimum maintenance roads or one of the ORV parks?

If anyone is interested, the KC Toyota Club meet is on July 29th (This Sunday) at Longview Lake Shelter 13 or 12(depends on how many people are there when we show up). 10AM-2PM Come as early and stay as late as you like. There's a playground for the kids at Shelter 13 and just down the road is the swim beach. So make it a family outing. It's a BBQ so bring your own grills and food or use one of the few shelter grills (might be crowded). Talk trucks/cars and have a fun time. Feel free to bring stuff you want to sell or talk about it. I have some take offs I'm looking to get rid of myself. (TRD Sport suspension - 91k miles and front mudflaps)
