So much more to get done. Wire HAM radio, wire power to the bed, install fridge slide. It's never ending.

Some throw pack pictures from 1 year ago when I took my trip from Alaska to Washington. Best drive I've ever taken and I definitely plan on making the trip again.

Awesome. Anything other than the usual that you'd suggest to bring along? Spare parts, clothing? I recall the expedition overland people having issues with mosquitos. I think i have a face net somewhere and have been meaning to make nets for two windows so i can leave them cracked if I'm in the truck.

When are you gonna make the trek? I was lucky since I left at this time, I hit very little traffic, no mosquitoes yet and no snow. Nothing out of the ordinary for clothing and parts. I had a smooth trip and there is still lots of places large enough to buy things in a pinch; at least close to the southern boarder of Canada. Closer to the Alaska side there's less places.

Edit: I don't recall many mosquitoes but tons of gnats and flies. Bring extra washer fluid for sure. There's parts where the front of your vehicle will be covered.
Guess you have to do them both  Now that I have my tent I plan to camp the whole way. Since I was pcs'ing I stayed in hotels and a couple bed and breakfast places.

    It'll likely be August.

Planning to leave Denver at the end of June, spend a month making my way north. Need to fly to la the first week of August so i need to see where i can fly from and I'll work around that... Need to look into it soon.

Maybe if I come across a good deal. I'd probably re-gear 1st. I feel like I'm the only one who wheels a manual anymore haha

meh you can find better uses of money besides a S/C unless you'll be towing a bunch...it's nice to have and fun, but more wear and tear, restricted to premium gas and not cheap to get in the first place...

definitely gears, maybe front locker, bigger tars, upgrade electrical components, armor upgrades

Meh... my truck has run Premium gas since day one. If you commit to it, you get used to the expense. :D

But I do agree on your other ideas and thought process.

but you don't have to use it...you could get away with 87 or 85 and not worry.

that's a concern of mine doing an AK trip in the future is the availability of good gas and keeping the engine happy with the S/C
