There's a dealer here in Akron that will install the Katzkin. A little bit more but probably worth it?

No comparison in my mind. Had Katzkins on my 2012 Tacoma, and they looked almost new when I sold the truck.

For your viewing pleasure. Managed a concussion and stitches from this but it’s finished lol

$1100 cheaper then the local place. Really appreciate the deal.

What’s the difference from these to the Katzkin on eBay for a couple hundred less?

Serious question as ive been scoping it for the last week and just found this thread now

Also I seen a post about the straps in the rear being covered up in the last page or so with no reply- do the straps have a dedicated slot?

I know there are cheap Chinese ones floating around on eBay. There is a thread about a guy ending up with them and they fell apart.

I wouldn’t say cheap at 550 at least monetarily but this is why I ask, obviously wouldn’t want to spend money on a knock-off

Is there any way to tell of a genuine Katzkin? Or if this is a legit dealer? My boss got a kit and it seems nice but eBay has always had me weary. I don’t mean to be rude by asking about another seller on this thread but if it is genuine and I can save 200, why not

I think what you are paying for here is the ability to customize these. I ended up buying from an eBay seller because I was tempted by price, and was planning on getting pretty plain covers anyway. The eBay guys buy in bulk, usually only all black or all gray, and already have them in their warehouses.

When I installed these in my old 4Runner 10 years ago I went and picked them up from an eBay seller at the warehouse and got some info from him. He has contracts with the local dealers and installs for them, he had hundreds of kits in his warehouse, but all were very plain OEM styles. His only sales to the public are through eBay, not like some of the other upholstery shops that deal with the public, so his costs were low, and orders were low and orders were all the same, working from a warehouse and buying in bulk.

The seller here has to order one off kits every time, no doubt he pays a higher price than guys who can buy in such bulk.

I don’t feel the eBay guys have Chinese knockoffs (I’m sure some might sell cheap brands, but they probably won’t have the Katzkin tag). They just have the advantage of bulk discounts. I asked some when I was buying if I could customize. Only one seller would and his custom price was more than the price on here.

I still look at this thread because I love to see the custom kits, sometimes I wish I did a custom kit, but I know mine still would have been pretty plain.

Thank you for this- that makes complete sense. I to was only planning on getting black/black standard anyways and still contemplating doing the install myself. I get greasy and dirty at work and been using a towel on the cloth seats after work.

I appreciate you taking the time brotha

More Mahogany beauty with heated seats! Also did some sound deadening while the seats were out.

Big thanks to John. Real helpful! Absolutely worth it.

I think if your looking for just a single tone kit and happen to find the color you want, it’s not a bad deal as long as the kit is complete?
Before being a Certified Dealer/Installer (8 years now) I would buy a kit or two off eBay just to find out it may have been previously installed or incomplete. This however is. Or always the case.
If you want to design your own and have the option to add perforation, two tone or logos you would be best off ordering through myself. My pricing and shipping definitely beats the competitors and if you have an issue with the kit or installation I’m available.
    John
