How do you keep the j rack from rocking side to side on the Yakima cross bars. The j-racks I bought aren't the yakima hull raisers but a universal fit type j - rack. Anyway I tighten the knobs down as tight as I can but it still moves side to side. Any help is appreciated!

They shouldn't move once the kayak is in the cradle and lashed down.
I kept mine off when not in use.
The setup was thule as well as the j hulls not the universal ones.
When I used them on my friend's yakima round bars they always fell over just like you described. On my square bars they did not.
But once we put the boats in...no more falling.
