We got my mom the Hullavator on her Forester, she's 64 and because of that still kayaks more than I do! It's expensive, but if lifting the kayaks up is an issue this is a great option!

It’s an impressive set up! If someone is going out often it’s definitely worth the extra coin. I’m unsure how often I would be going therefore would need to really think about it.

That’s awesome you got that for your mom BTW!

One more thing to add, they stick up like freakin moose antlers. She can't get a Forester in the garage with them up, she has to move them down to the loading position where they're on the sides of the vehicle to be able to get her car in the garage.

I'm just happy she wants to keep kayaking!

I throw my 12' in the bed, gate down. Once I get the Prinsu, it will go on the cap.

Yeah, I can't wait to get it out on the water and enjoy it. The weather is not looking too good this weekend, maybe next weekend.

My wife was not a fan of it sitting in the living room until I got a hoist for it in the garage.

That first paddle is gonna be good.

    Have fun!

If the bed's empty sure, but I usually have camping stuff and and ice chest. This kept the yak at about tonneau cover level up out of the bed, so I could slide totes and ice chests under the crossbars with ease.

Ah - got it - makes sense. If I'm going for periods of time mine rest on the camper.. the truck bed, like yours would contain a
cooler, make-shift cook setup, chairs, spare tent for changing clothes or other affairs, all that kinda stuff. The 'hut' will now be
    towed by the Tacoma.

Thule racks and J-racks. Adds between 5 and 10 MPH with a good tail wind.

Blue.. got same setup / 6 foot bed but 2 10 foot kayaks -
Just for grins I slipped on of the kayaks in and am hard pressed to figure out how to get the second one in.

    Pelican Mustang 100

Got a tonnaeu cover - was thinking I could flip up 3 levels and leave the kayaks under the cover a bit and up over the tailgate.

Yakima Overhaul, picked up used with sidebars and 55" crossbars, super pleased with it.

Yaks stays put on the freeway no problem. Have driven from OC to SD with no issues. Usually taking freeway from OC to newport or dana point.
