Our max towing is 6400 lbs with a 5' bed.

I'm in the initial stages of planning a travel trailer purchase, with biking and kayaking the reason to travel.

My ideal trailer would be a 3200 lbs or less bunkhouse.

I'll have 2 bikes and 2 kayaks to load, bikes are 25 lbs each, and kayaks 50 lbs each.

The bikes I can put in the bed, but I haven't figured out the kayaks. At 10' long, I would think they'll hit the trailer if I put them in the bed. How much would I count towards tounge weight if the don't?

I'm worried a roof rack will be another sail and give me worse gas mileage than I'm hearing about.

How are people carrying kayaks with travel trailers?
