This thread makes me laugh. I think @KB Voodoo makes a great product. From personal experience there will always be customers that are not fully satisfied with what they are given. Sometimes it is because of poor workmanship, sometimes it is because of poor descriptions of products or communication, and sometimes it is because people just want to complain. Seems that of those reasons that are applicable to this situation Chad has done his part to make things right. Things like this happen. Customers who are willing to work it out with the vendor directly and in a mature manner usually tend to have the most success in coming to a conclusion they feel bad about.

All that being said, Chad, I definitely think you could put some pressure on the shop that does your plasma. Having worked with a bunch of different laser cutters and plasma shops I have found a few things. Sometimes they have the capability of doing better and they choose not to out of laziness. Those edges look like they started the plasma on the edge of the slot. If they start it in the middle of the portion to be removed and then move out to start cutting the finished edge it won't do that as badly. Also, input like @JLee mentioned will help. Put the pressure on them to better execute their work. Plasma isn't perfect but you can always demand their best effort.

The other thing is that depending on where you are you may want to look more closely into laser cutting. When I first started with my racks, the price of laser seemed out of range. I was using plasma as well and on aluminum none the less. It worked but required a lot of fine tuning by hand because of things like have been shown in this thread. At the time I was living in a more rural area and although there were multiple reputable shops with capabilities they all had plenty of work and didn't have the competition of a more urban area. I looked into shops in the urban area and was able to keep my same prices and get my parts laser cut. At first I took a hit and had to swallow the extra price but eventually developed a good relation with a shop and in giving them more and more business they have worked with me on price and I am now back to the margin I had with the plasma.

I have since moved closer to that shop so driving to pickup parts isn't an issue anymore but even when I was driving to pick them up it was worth it.

May not be a possibility in your region, and you may have already looked into it, if not dig around a little and see what you can find. With the number of products you have and support here on tacomaworld, I am sure a shop with a good laser would be willing to work with you.

You have great products and hope business continues well for you despite complaints like this.

3rd gen syndrome. Post something complaining, stir everything up, then have nothing to substantiate your claims.

It's not all their fault. It's partly to do their Tacoma upbringing. They got their first truck, it's so much better than everyone else's (though there is no real world evidence to prove that, just fairy dust and unicorn poop) and now they are all self entitled forum posters. None of them sit around and learn from others for a while before contributing their great knowledge to us.

I have the tailgate cap, and am about to order the bed basket as well. And before I even ordered it, Chad told me he just ran out and would have more in a week or so. Great stuff. Plasma cutting could be better, As Jlee said lead in and out is important with plasma and waterjetting, but for the price I am not going to complain. Its a truck. Not a Ferrari.
Keep up the good work brother

Honestly, a bed extender flipped into the bed does the same job.
