Here's how the basket looks under our mid height rack.

So the basket doesn't attach to the bed rack directly? You would need to purchase the crossbars too?

That is correct, unless you put the basket on top of the rack.

So I was thinking.. A couple of extra beams ordered for the rack.. installed upside down. I would now have a mounting location for the cargo basket, would just need to drill the side walls. As to the actual structural integrity of that theory.. not a clue.

Thanks for the pics TSki. I'm thinking of having the extra beams on the top (I will mount the RTT on the rack at a later date using those same beams). Mount the rack and slider assembly to those beams. This way the basket will not interfere with my bed cover and wont take up any additional space in the bed. If there are enough space between the basket and bed cover then I will mount the spare tire there.

Just got to figure how to mount the slider and basket to the beams up top...

    THIS!

Crossbar mounts integral to the bed rack. I'd have to make the cross bars sit about 1" above the bed rails. Would this still clear the mid-height rack?

You mean the crossbars and the basket? If so, yes, that would be all you need.

Yo Chad @KB Voodoo , how are you dude??? Do you think the basket can be attached either to the Toyota 4Runner OEM roof crossbars or to the Thule aero bars???
