    Nice looking product. What are they made out of? Thickness/gage just thinking of using these other than depicted above. Trying to get a feel for how much weight they could hold

    They are made from 14 gage steel. They are very stiff. One member has used them to hold a full size spare.

    Are these strong enough to hold a roof top tent....if the tent sits on brackets on each rail. It would obviously be on two rails.

    Quick question. What do you do to stop them from bouncing up and down? Im thinking of building a support that adjusts down to the bed from the center hole.

    Looks great!!

    There should be very little bounce. Mine are solid as a rock. Make sure all your hardware is tight, including the knobs that attach the cleats to the rails.

    As the bikes rock sideways it flexes up and down. everything is tight. It would be very easy to make a support for the center thats quick to remove. Im assuming it couldnt hold my weight? Im scared to try lol.

    Otherwise, i love it. Looks good. Practical, and will be used lots. Only thing i will change is the mounting, so it can be removed quicker without tools, aka wing nuts on the bottom side.
