This has probably been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it (promised I tried the search function).
The difference between the Tacoma Bed Rack and Premium Bed Rack is 14 gauge steel vs. 12 gauge steel, correct? From what I can tell, the dimensions available and layout are identical besides the thickness.

The Premium is also partially boxed construction which adds considerable strength. It also has stainless hardware.

You can also just go spend $5 at Lowe's on a couple 1/2 x 4" hex bolts, washers, and wing nuts, then secure with your choice of cable lock. I'm sure the specifically made mounting hardware is all great, but it's also way more than $5.

On the topic of cheap DIY rack mounting solutions- for quick fists I found that using inch long #10 flat screws with a 3/16 fender washer on the inside work great. $2.50 per set of 2 quick fists.

How did you mount your spare tire? Looks like it's sitting on the cross bar?

Yeah I just have it sitting up there held by a ratchet strap that goes through the wheel and the slots in the crossbars. It's temporary until I get an RTT but it's been solid up there

All the commercial bedracks are gonna be removable by someone if they have a couple guys to help and a full toolkit. Only way I see you really "securing" it is if you weld your own to the frame somehow.

That's the risk. You can secure all your stuff to the bedrack all day, but that doesn't stop someone from stealing the whole dang bedrack. That's when security cameras help. Or being a light sleeper with a semi auto 12 gauge :p

@KB Voodoo Have any of your customers sent you pics of their installs with a tonneau cover on a 2nd gen with your racks installed on it? Preferably ones that have the bed rails used?

There are tons of pics all over TW and Instagram.

I'm not sure what you mean about the bed rails.
