Just got my rack in the mail yesterday! Put it on that night. It's pretty damn sturdy and it looks amazing. One gripe I have is that the carriage bolts holding it together were really tight in the holes and I broke two of them trying to tighten them. Maybe it's user error? I don't know. But I still love this thing. Can't wait to accessorize it!
Tip: put it together upside down, it'll save you a lot of hassle lol

    Yes, user error :)

But every once in a while, someone snaps a bolt. That's why we supply extra. :dancingbacon:

And thank God you do give extra. Turned a bad day into a minor inconvenience!

So i finally had time this weekend to get the rack installed. I bought mine full height with the tonneau brackets and its def rocks. I also had some user error issues where i was tightening the the parts and snapped off the bolt heads and had to hammer the out. I think about 15-18lb ft would suffice dont need to tighten till you cant go anymore. I did also have a hard time putting the frame parts onto the tonneau brackets as the bolts were a little short but with two people one person can use some pliers to squeeze the frame and bracket close together so you can fit the nuts and bolts in.
I ended up sealing the gap bw the rack some 1inch expandable weather seal at home depot. It squishes down to 1/4 for a watertight seal but after this, my retrax cover is a lot harder to close now and binds a little bit 1/4 closed.

Not sure if anyone else had the issue, but after a few days, the coating started flaking off on most of the edges of the pieces I ended up spraying the exposed metal with some high temp bbq spray. But its a bad ass rack and cant wait to fit my RTT on top. Just need to find a way to clear my sharkfin antenna. Thanks for a great product Chad! Keep those ideas rolling.

Just brainstorming. What are the benefits to having the short bed rack (length not height) not be centered (forward to back) on the truck bed. What problems come up with using the long bed rack on the short bed so it goes on the full length of the bed?

Did you want the awning higher for some reason? I mounted mine to the top of the rack, no extension brackets used like you did... and it is plenty tall enough. I'm 6' and I can stand under the entire awning, even right next to the rack, and not hit my head on anything.

I might do something like this when I add my side awning, but for the rear one I didn't want to cover up that sweet laser-cut KB Voodoo logo because I plan on adding a 3rd brake light behind it. I do think I'm going to get slightly shorter mounting brackets to pull it down an inch or two, but it will still sit higher than the Voodoo logo.
