2 questions about the bar. When using 1 bar is it possible to fold up the factory trifold and rest it against the bar? Similarly, if the bar is removed and the cover folded up is there clearance to reattach the bar overtop?

The Tundra guy stopped and asked me about the rear rack I had. And here he is all set up. We’re parking buds today!

@KB Voodoo question for you. I just ordered a set of hi rises, How have y’all mounted a rtt to these? Are you simple mounting them with one bolt in each corner?

They should be 3/8” and just the standard size that fits in these rail cleats. I took one of the rail cleats to an Ace hardware and got the button head bolts there... big box will not have them and not worth ordering IMO. These are the standard cleats, same spec as what comes with the cross bars:

Hey, just installed my Retraxone MX on my 18 yesterday. Are the rails sitting up like a 1/2 inch? I thought it would be more flush from what i've seen on videos and pictures. Let me know if you guys need pics, i can send it out shortly. thanks in advance!

Yep, they do have foam they sit on. About 3/8”. You can push down on the rails to compress the foam while tightening the cleats, but that will only make a tiny difference. Put your weight into it and push down lined up with cleat. I guess you could replace the foam with thinner foam but the height didn’t bother me. I wanted it to be more flush too though when I first installed but it seemed ok after a while.

I’m really liking how sturdy these voodoo racks are for mounting a RTT and being able to off road. I was wondering how the water tightness is for this setup with a roll up tonneau like a pace edwards? Can anyone comment on that?

I can say that the Retrax roll up has been very water tight. A bit of water can get in at the tailgate but not much from what I’ve seen. Certainly it’s not affected by the Voodoo system. The foam seals around the voodoo base nicely. The Retrax and Gator trax are the same cover, also owned by same company. These are the two best roll cover options IMO. Pictured above is the Retrax One MX. It is a high quality plastic roll up. They also make an aluminum roll up which I think is called the pro. I didn’t need that.

Anybody successfully mount the front rack forward of the front latch pin for the stock tonneau? You guys with the Retrax cover are getting the front rack real close to the cab, which is good for fitting bikes. The stock tonneau has a latch up there that interferes without some modification.

BTW these racks are VERY sturdy and well made. Just exploring all my options.

    Here's why:

I suppose I could bungee the frame down to the rear rack...

Has anyone installed these with a TruXedo Lo Pro without any modifications to the cover rails or other hardware?

Anyone know if you can attach a basket to these racks, then attach kayak j hooks to the basket ??
Wondering if this would allow the kayaks to clear the roof line while creating storage in the basket
