Has anyone gotten one of these with a soft trifold tonneau? And can you fold it up all the way and buckle under the front bar?

The knobs that attach the crossbars are 1/4"-20

We don't sell fork mounts, but they are readily available on Amazon.

Got mine mounted today. They are pretty study and should be more than enough for carrying some bikes or a RTT. I think I'm going to paint the cross bars black to blend in better - the gray kind of sticks out on an otherwise all black truck, but that's only my opinion.

I did experience a couple of issues with the bars though. The tab on one of the bars was bent a little past 90-degrees, and wouldn't go all the way onto the bracket because it was hitting the edge of the nut-cert.
    20161127_120859.jpg

On end of the other bar was all out of whack, and the bolt hole would not line up with the nut-cert.
    20161127_120513.jpg

Not sure if these were the result of rough handling during shipment, but they were very well packaged and the box didn't show any damage. In any event, I had to go at them with a block of hardwood and a BFH to get them to fit.

I also noticed that the father back I mounted the brackets, the farther out they stuck from the side of the truck. This is not a problem with the brackets, but shows that the 2nd gen bed sides get thinner towards the rear - something that I never noticed before.
    20161127_155007.jpg

My last comment is regarding the nut-certs themselves. The brackets and bars are supper beefy, but it seems like the aluminum nut-certs are going to be a major weak point. I plan to take these on and off frequently, and will also be switching between the knobs and security bolts when mounting a RTT. Security bolts are only secure if they are tightened enough to resit tampering, and I worry about how the nut-certs will hold up. I expected a welded nut or female threaded tube instead of a nut-cert, and hope they last longer than I think they will. If they do fail, I will have a nut welded on.

I had the same fitting challenges you did, and in fact messed up the outside of one of the nut-certs trying to force the fit. Luckily the threads are on the inner side of the cert, so really it's only cosmetic damage.

And 3rd gen bed sides are thinner/curve in toward the rear as well. It makes mounting KBVoodoo's bed rack a little more challenging the first time, before you figure out the bolt needs to go in the bracket before putting on the rack.

Otherwise, love the bars and the rack from KB Voodoo!

So are the security bolts/knob option in reference to how the bars mount to the brackets or how the brackets mount to the bed?

Is that an Extang Solid Fold you're using it with? How well does the cover close with the brackets underneath?

    Both, just to be safe.

If we wanted a different combination, let us know and we'll make it happen.

Yup, Extang Solid Fold. As expected, the brackets raise the lid up a bit, and the lid's seal isn't soft or thick enough to seal around it. The front brackets have to be either in front of or behind the Extang's mounting hardware on the rails. I have mine in the forward position, and the front corners are up as a result. The front seal looks good though. I just hook the rear handles into the rails without the rear Extang brackets, so the back Voodoo bracket can go pretty much anywhere. I put mine just in front of the first fold so the rear third of the lid can be opened all the way, and there are now gaps there too. I don't plan to leave the Voodoo stuff on all the time, but if you did you could easily fix the gap with some foam weather strip stuck to the bed in front, behind, and between the Voodoo brackets.

I also just got my security bolts and driver from McMaster Carr:

    Bolts: https://www.mcmaster.com/#94066a540/=159p6c4

    Driver: https://www.mcmaster.com/#94062a119/=159p6of

It was about $20 with shipping.

Lol, I ordered the same bolts and driver, total 23.56. The brackets ruin the perfect seal with the oem tonneau as well, but not too badly.

First off, The attention to detail and thoughtful design is top notch on this generation.

Can you get the bar on when it's folded like this? I've got a soft trifold tonneau, which in theory should be thinner than what's pictured, but the doubt is the only thing that's kept me from ordering.

One fold of the factory trifold can go under the bar, but two folds cannot.

Gotcha, I may just switch out to a roll up.

Last question, what is the distance from the cap on the side rail to the bottom edge of the bar?

I've got two big Tupperware bins full of sailing gear that I slide in and out all summer and want to make sure they'll fit under.

The bottom of the crossbar is 4.75" from the top of the side rail cap.
