I wish this rack style was available all the way up like the tall rack. Then you could open a tonneau cover and have a rack with an RTT on it..best of both worlds (heat the ice?)!!!

It would be super flimsy from side to side.

Hence I wish...I understand the logistics of the sturdiness..would be the best of both worlds tho..I plan to buy a mid height short bed after a couple random eBay sales come through! Like the look you created..those voodoo bottle openers are sick too!

How long is the $20 off gonna last? The crossbars normally powder coated black or it comes like this? With two people in a RTT with weight around 600 is this good? I keep coming back to it for the simpleness and low profile. Just concerned about weight a little

They can easily handle that weight. The $20 off should be around a while. Everything is powder coated, but the crossbar is coated grey.

So I am basically looking at this bracket but bent with maybe 1/2 inch over the cover with the flat surface for the magnet to sit on.

I can get you the size of the magnet base?

We don't have anything like what you're describing, and a custom piece would be quite expensive.

They could be, but we supplied them in the aluminum color.

It would be easy to rattle can them black.

Well... I was going to buy the Bakflip CS for my 2017, and then custom fab 3 towers per side, cross them at the bulkhead and have a removable cross bar in the back also. This would give me a headache rack, allow me full use of the bed with the tonneau folded all the way up, and quickly convert to have my kayaks/canoes or some lumber up top. I may also look into a RTT one day.

So - they (Bakflip) don't make (and have no plans to make) a CS version for the Gen 3 Taco. Guess demand was low?

    Back to square one.

Do you know of a hard top tri-fold cover that will work with these brackets, which folds all the way back unlike the OE ones? The Undercover Flex looks like it also has those rails that the backflip has, so I'm at a loss.

Anyway, I like this and your other tall rack system but I need a hard tri-fold cover to go with them. I'd MUCH rather buy a system than build one... I'm a single dad and have more money than time (although, the money thing also has much room for improvement).

Let me know your thoughts please.

    Thank you!

There's so many covers out there that it's difficult to keep track of which ones work or don't work.

If you review our pictures, it should be clear how these brackets work.

We went through 40 sets pretty fast. Somebody must have an RTT on them by now (even though summer is over).

Anyone use these cross bars on a 2nd Gen with RTT and have photos/input to share?
