It’s like Mickey Deez up in here. I’m lovin my new KB Voodoo 10” Aluminum max modular bed rack. Im adding another mod to mount a full size spare under the rack. I have a nice gator tonneau cover for the bed. I have a Tepui tent on top. Which is why I’m mounting it underneath. Have you had others mount it there? Will it be able to bear the weight? Im thinking of adding a strap too for support. Any suggestions there? I don’t see any on your website. I’m ordering an additional top bar today to run in the middle of the rack. Do you have any promotion codes? Thank you for making quality products for all of us taco heads

 

I don't think you can physically fit a full size spare under a 10" rack and above a tonneau cover.

If it does fit, what do you plan to support it with?

 

Hmm that’s a good point. I’ll have to measure it. Derp, should’ve already done that! I was planning on sticking a BF Goodrich LT 285 / 70R17 underneath. I have a low profile gator roll tonneau cover. After researching here on the forum and other places online I settled with the Yakima spare tire carrier. I was going to then use a strap for additional support. But open to suggestions and other ideas…

 

I measured the clearance below the rack and the full size spare definitely won’t fit. I attached a pic. So, I was thinking of slapping it on top. I saw on your website you sell additional top bars. So, if I buy an additional top bar do you 1. Have a promo code for that. 2. Have a recommendation for how to attach it to the top bar? I looked at the Yakima spare tire carrier and it is mostly setup to work with a basket. So, to avoid drilling holes in the new top bar, please let me know what you’ve seen other taco heads do with this kind of setup on your racks, i.e. straps, mods, etc. TIA

The easiest way to secure the tire would be with a ratchet strap or two, that's what I've seen the most.

Hi I have the KB Voodoo Hi Rise bars. I generally keep the bars off the truck bed unless I'm loading things on them. I was wondering if anyone has ever slid a piece of rubber or silicone over the 4 bar holders. They are are pretty sharp and I imagine that a custom piece of rubber could slide over would enhance the look and help with safety. Not sure if this has been attempted before or if KB Voodoo has considered this.

 

I tried to buy the tonneau brackets with the FALL10 code that is on the website, but was not allowed. Do you have any codes that could work? TIA.
