KB Voodoo Outboard Bike Mount - Ready to Ship

As you can see from the front mount it causes the bed cap to droop quite a bit. And I have the mount as tight as can be but that mount floats up and down. Like I said probably would work a lot better with his reinforced bed caps. And the tare mark is where the pedal rests on the Tonneau cover and any movement of the truck causes it move slightly making tares in the Tonnaeu Cover. I have everything as tight as possible and you can go over to the bike and just rock it back and forth which will take the weight off the bed caps and then put the weight back on the caps. I would think by the caps moving around a bit it will remove some paint. So like I said nice mounts, definitely made for the reinforced bed caps that won't have play in them.

 

Just so it is noted I am just giving an honest review of the product. Not trying to down anyone, or cause issues. I have used it, and this is what it has done to my truck. Therefore it is getting removed, and sold to the highest bidder.

 

I paid 145.00 shipped for the mounts I will include a lockable Yakima fork mount already attached. For the same 145.00 shipped.

 

Not worried about that bro it is what it is. Just want to get rid of them, and be done with it.

 

Have you thought about making a version that doesn't require removing front tire? Mount a tire tray the same way you mount the current set up. Then maybe a over tire clamp system similar to some Yakima or Thule set ups. Would definitely be interested in it

 

You can do that with it now, just order without a fork mount and bolt a tray on there.

Hey KB, how about some sort of front tire mount to the rails or something. The rack is fantastic however I still have to deal with finding a place to stash that front wheel

I dont have one of yours, did something similar to what you produced, a more backyard done thing a year or 2 ago, and right now I just Velcro the wheel to the bike frame. The wheel is on the outside and I am always afraid of one time the wheel will give and good bye.

Hasnt happened yet as I usually carry bike in bed. But I am getting a bed rack in the next week which means full time bed side mount use. I may pick one of yours up if mine doesnt hold up

 

What is the weight limit of your bike mount? My DH Bike is ~50 lbs its a tank. Can the bed rails handle that moment while wheeling?

 

Do you have the standard plastic bed rails? If so my mountain bike weighs about 20 pounds and jounces a lot when on the mount. I think a 50 pound bike might actually ruin or put a lot of stress on the bed rails

 

Been running the full set of voodoo bed caps but still only the factory bed rails.
Yea that was my worry, the bike is a beast and with my new bed rack getting made and possible tire gate, trying to determine how to haul the DH bike. I have a similar thing I did like that mount a year ago but only use that to haul the road bike, im afraid of what the sway a 50lb bike would do to the mounts.
In the past always ran that one with a fork mount in the front bed rail

You would be better off with my side rail caps. The factory caps are a little weak for that load.

 

I've seen your bike. It absolutely does not weigh 20 pounds. More like 30.
