On the edge of my seat for the long bed. Got my new truck today and am again disappointed with the Softopper installation on the OEM caps. The clamps they provide just don't cut it. I'm going to fiddle with it tomorrow for a little bit but I will probably end up taking it off.

Any progress on getting a truck lined up for making templates?

I had the same feeling when I installed my Softopper last weekend, but it's held up fine driving 70mph+ this week. Some members advise getting an extra pair of clamps.

Definitely interested in some long bed rail caps regardless of the Softopper installation!

I just installed mine with my revolver x2. It won't work without modification for the revolver.

These caps actually cause a lot more leaking with the OEM cover. The difference in thickness from the plastic to the steel made for a rather large gap at the front of the bed when fitted with the OEM tonneau cover. The top rail in the front (toward cab) of the truck sits a little higher than the side rails.

Thanks for update! I honestly forgot I asked about it. It's been a while since I asked and haven't gotten a response.

As cool as the thought is, this design among others, don't have the right tooling to make this product better than OEM.

It depends on what you want them for. I personally like mine just because they look and feel better than plastic. My factory tonneau cover might leak a little, but that's really secondary to me.

Agreed they are better (especially when using my RTT). That said I am working on options to close the gaps because I got vey little weather in with the OEM.

The track that the bed cover lays in needs to be flush with the rail cap so the hardware for the cap can't protrude. I countersunk the bolt holes on the cap and used flush hardware. I did other stuff but it wasn't necessary just to mount the rail cap and revolver. Sorry. No pics, was rushing to install.

That doesn't sound too bad. Just flush mounting the top screws to not protrude and interfere with the rails. How well does it deal now? Way less water than before?
