Hi ... New to TW. Mostly joined to get feedback and ideas on setting up the taco with a bedrack. Loving the kb voodoo bed rack. Working on setting up the truck with some basics for light offroading and camping. By any chance was the batch of bad powder coating fixed? I've seen some people post videos of edges rusting on the rack, and this post would turn me down for now on settling for the bed rack.

Hey, welcome to TW. From what I gather the powder coat is better than it was when I first got my rack, as I got cover adapters and they seemed nicer (ill link a video later to this thread). But I wouldn't let that stop you, they are a great small company that wants to create a good reputation. The edges of mine rusted but I've been cleaning them up with a wire brush and spray on rubber. If you end up getting one id say add another layer to the coat as a precautionary measure.

Thank you. I've seen solid feedback from KB Voodoo and he has definitely come up with some ingenious solutions. The rack is bad ass, but the Powder Coating vendor have to get their stuff together. I'm saving up to budget one of the bed racks, hopefully by then its all squared out.

I didn't think about state inspections. I am in VA, and I am not sure what their requirement is for the third brake light, but I'll probably do a short rack vs the tall rack.

Are you planning on adding a tent or anything to the top of the rack that would block the light? That's also something to consider.

@KB Voodoo I noticed that the 2016+ tail gate only aluminum rails are "sold out" but was wondering if that means that the packaged deal with the tailgate and bed side rails are out as well? Or are you only selling package deals and not the tailgate rail by itself? I'm confused

The 2016+ tailgate caps are gone and we most likely won't be bringing them back. I removed the package deal from our website.

Damn, that's too bad. Guess I'll have to make my own! Any particular reason you guys discontinued them?
    Thanks for the update though

They weren't a very hot seller, and they took up too much shelf space.

FML!!!!! Mine is slowly peeling after less than 2 months. Wish I would’ve seen all the threads about the PC before I purchased.
Would’ve gone with RCI like I was thinking....this seems like it’s been going on for awhile the issues with PC. As I’ve said in another thread my rattle can job on my gig clearance where shit gets kicked up on it all the time is holding up with no issues versus the 500 I’ve paid to watch something peel off and rust.

Thanks for tagging me and giving me nightmares @Shikokaon

I have rusting issues on my over the bed cover rack as well but I haven't contacted the company about it. I figure it'll just be easier for me to fix it myself
