Hey all - I’ve been chasing down leaks for a while with my ARE TW (Wedge) shell along the front corners. I’ve finally decided to just take it off and start over and seal underneath the plastic bed rails.

in the past I’ve used the ESI foam bulkhead along to make up for the gap caused by the plastic bed rails, and actually have another roll of it to use. However, I just came across the KB Voodoo aluminum bed rail caps, which should only create an 1/8 gap and allow a continuous piece of rubber bubble seal on the cap.

Does anyone have any experience here? I’m concerned that the 1/8 gap could still be enough to cause leaks. Would it be better to just use the foam bulkhead and plastic rails?

I got the KB Voodoo rails before installing my wedge. I like them, but still had leaks in the corners. That's not really a bed rail issue. When I got my new wedge, it came with rails I liked better, but in all practical ways were the same as the KBs. I sealed the corners first and then after wedge install, used sealing putty to seal them again. Worked great. No more leaks.

Where are you located? I still have the KB rails and will give them away. They are modified for Total Chaos bed stiffeners, but that does not change anything relevant. They are in Boise ID.

Edit: Having the shorter rails really helps. I'm in a 2.5 gen and I think the height difference is not the same for other gens, but should still work better than stock. Also, I run the triple bulb seal along the sides (glue to wedge) and a single bulb seal along the front (glue to wedge) after leveling it with foam seal (glue to truck).

I ended up getting the KB Voodoo Rails, sealing underneath with RTV and using butyl to fill the gaps in the corners. I used the ESI extruded rubber bulb seals all the way around the shell, and seem to have no leaks.
