    Hello everyone!

I'm looking to buy my first Tacoma (2016 Limited 4x4). I spoke with a internet sales rep for a Toyota dealer here in Nashville yesterday about a Limited they have on their lot. They have the MSRP on a 2016 Limited listed at $41,293 (which is high IMO). He said their invoice is 38k and the best he would do is 1k over invoice so 39k approx.

I told him that his invoice number seems high compared to what I see on KBB http://www.kbb.com/toyota/tacoma-do...umer_reviews/?vehicleid=411728&intent=buy-new and he advised invoice numbers on KBB True car etc are not accurate. He said good luck finding one at 36k-37k and that Tacomas are so high demand that they don't get priced that low.

Is KBB known to not be accurate? I'd be willing to offer $500 to $1k over invoice which I believe would be fair (given dealer hold backs incentives etc).

Is it possible to get a 4x4 Limited in this price range around 36k (FMV according to KBB)? I am in no rush to buy and was thinking with the 2017's rolling out soon prices would be more in my favor for the 2016's. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Was the MSRP matching vs invoice? Could there have been dealer add ons in the INvoice price?

I have found NADA to be accurate. Of course you have to account for dealer add ons, and with NADA you can choose the options offered by toyota. If the dealer puts a lift or different tires you have to figure that in. Search cars.com to see what others are going for in your area.

36k for a 4x4 limited seems like a big stretch, but I hope you get it!

I know. It seems like a really good deal to me too that is why I'm wondering about Kelly Blue Book (link I provided in first post) it has a 2016 4x4 limited Fair Market Value price in my area of Tennessee to be 36-37k assuming no extra add ons of course.

I'm going to assume KBB is off with their Fair Market Value assessment if the consensus here is highly unlikely to get one at that price.

These trucks bring a little higher than that around middle tn. as opposed to florida or some places in the southeast. The hunters like myself love them and they sale like hotcakes. Roberts in columbia only had one last week it was a blue sport 4x4. Toyota of murfreesboro though is HUGE, may pay off for you to give them a shout and see with them.

Cheapest MSRP i've seen for a Limited 4x4 is $39,500. Good luck getting one for 36k. Probably not going to happen. Do some searches on cars.com and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks. Murfreesboro is only 30 minutes away from me so I will check them out. I see awesome prices on new Limited Tacomas in Georgia, Florida & Alabama. The sales guy I spoke with here in Nashville said theses states get to do different pricing structure on their vehicles since they are considered a different region than Tennessee. He said TN is looped into "Corporate" pricing structure. Not sure how much of any of that is true. Sounded good but who knows.

I'm Tempted to buy out of state but have never done that before and not sure if it would be a huge pain in the ass regarding title transfer taxes etc.

Yeah lowest Im seeing as list price on Cars.com is $39,800. I'm wondering though too if these prices will drop even more given that in August/September the new 2017's will be rolling out?

Unknown. The prices have dropped quite a bit in my area (Dallas/Ft. Worth) but there's always end of month and year end close outs to incent Toyota salesmen. Definitely gonna help lower prices. That and every dealer around me has Limiteds just sitting on the lot.

Invoice or walk. I know it's based on area but I paid invoice and all additional dealer add-ons that I wanted were free. That being said, the dealership I went to has been doing good business with folks unlike some of the other stories I have heard about in my area. The most I would ever pay over dealer invoice is 500 and that's if I couldn't wait. The price of a Limited should be about 40k out the door after taxes and title and whatever else, at least here in Texas.

You are close enough to the east coast to be paying invoice prices. I wouldn't pay anything above invoice.

Have you found the pricing thread?
