I don't own any of these products, so no dog in this fight for me. But this powder coat quality problem does certainly seem to be a recurring and unresolved issue.

I wonder how many people on this site would party with KB Voodoo, if given the chance.

    I'm undecided.

“Think” isn’t good enough for me. This company really seems to not stand behind their products, like companies should.

You will definitely not have any issues with the rack. Install it and enjoy. If any issues arise, we will take care of it.

This that and the other thing.
my buddy and his dad own a big powder coat company, I have had many things powdered by them, and no visual bare spots due to where they hang the item lol

That’s my favorite go to. Love that line. Twilight zone up in this piece.

Generally I side with fabricators, because most consumers are insanely picky (“why doesn’t my tacoma have 16.5 cupholders and a spot for loose golf balls”), and as I’ve mentioned before, if every fabricator has a call-out thread for the dumbest most nitpicky pussy problems (so many flat out whiners and armchair perfectionists out there) there won’t be anyone left to make shit in/for our community.

That being said, as a maker/fabricator, you have one (1) opportunity to sort out a problem, 2 if you’re crazy lucky. After that, it’s your ass.

Just to be clear, my fucks given here are few.. I just think after years of cyclical explanations about changing vendors, powder coat not being done properly, parts not being cut properly, etc.. that it is remarkably bad luck to have so many revolving doors in the manufacturing partnerships, so many variables that have changed completely or been adjusted, significant changes - yet the end problems have not changed at all.

A powder coater who does an excellent job won't put out product with subpar coating and bare spots.

    Yes they absolutely have changed.

Our new powder coat company does great work.

Gone are the days of peeling and bubbling coating.

The only issue in this thread is tiny bare spots left by the hanging hook. With an automated powder coat line, that is unavoidable.

You’re customers aren’t unhappy for no reason, you need to realize that. I don’t understand why you don’t adress everything at once. The bare metal wasn’t my only problem, blotchy spots on powdercoat and the finish feels very rough in some places. Seems like you only adress what you want to adress. You should easily be able to fix the bare metal problem, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who would be bothered by it. Why don’t you touch it up before shipping it out? Or if that’s too difficult, just don’t powdercoat the racks and sell them for 450$. I’m going to bedline mine regardless so I can have faith in it lasting me more than a year. In reality, you’re customers are paying for a powdercoat job they can’t trust. I really think leaving the racks bare is the best option for your company.

Finding more miniscule edge knicks. If I didn’t catch these, they would ruin the rack in 4 months. This is a problem.

I think the only one saying this is "ok" is the vendor;)
