I repainted mine with a rattle can and it's holding up ok with a very limited amount of coats on it. In a couple weeks I'll sand down the bad areas, paint, re-sand and put my final coats on and I'm confident that I'll be set for awhile.

I'd suggest using a reputable brands "tough" paint... Pick your flavor. I use the crap out of mine to hang stuff off of and powder coat was a complete joke, and the standard rattle can did just ok.

Overall I still am a fan of the rack (check back later this year for gussets ;) ).

Side note, someone should see if they could buy a rack without the large holes cut out. Extra weight, but plant wise....

So glad I made the decision to not order a rack. I was gonna order one being that I live only about an hour from him, figured I could pick it up myself and save the shipping cost. Went to the website to place the order, and the website price was $100 more then the forum post. I replied to the post asking what was up with that, literally 5 min later he edited the original post to the new price. That was pretty shady in my eyes. Decided the rack wasn’t worth the money and didn’t want to deal with someone like that. If it were me I would of honored the price it was listed at being my mistake since I didn’t update it before my website. Especially knowing 90% or better of his business comes from TW. Guess in the end it was the right decision, as I know I would of had the same issue. Even though I would take mine off for winter and wash my truck multiple times a month, any coating issues would be blamed on the fact that I live in western NY. Just absolutely sucks for the people dealing with the problems

I doubt 5% of our business comes from here. And I simply forgot to update the price shown on here, so I updated it when reminded.

The number of false statements and assumptions in this thread is mind boggling.

Oh so 95% of your business must come from the off-road magizines or events you hold? Get real. You ain’t selling Tacoma racks to people with F150s.

I’m not talking about any business you may do outside of making products for Tacoma’s. I’m sure you couldn’t make a living depending on only that. I’m saying 90% of your business you get from Tacoma related products are from Tacoma World

    But you don’t even know....

Perhaps you should better research your clientele

That’s probably what I’ll end up doing. Glad it’s working out for you.

I wish I would’ve done what you did. Hell, I wish I would’ve listened to @inesshell and gone with an RCI rack so I wouldn’t have to deal with the “powdercoat” issue and playing this who else can find more rust on my rack game every weekend

Anyone know a bed rack that's compatible with a bed cover, specifically RetraxPro MX

All customers that have contacted us through the proper channels are being taken care of.

I've spent more time and money addressing these issues in the last month than you could ever possibly imagine.

My whole rack is peeling. Love the rack. It first started with one panel, which @kbvoodoo replaced promptly. However, after a few more months on the rack, non-extreme conditions being in NC, the rest of the paint on the rack has began peeling starting around every edge.

I mean, promising replacement parts to someone and failing to get them out after receiving and selling out of two shipments worth of parts is a bit frustrating.:frusty:

We are picking up parts Thursday and your stuff is included in that load (if you're the Jeff emailed us about status the other day).

Again, we don't know who anybody on TW is in real life. All we see is a username here.
