ahhhhh, if only it had a 24 year warranty... seriously though, why 23? why not 20, or 25?

Let's meet up this week and take a side by side photo! Preferably at a brewery

Just to bother all of those people who also have to have their volume set to 15 or 20, those people who check to make sure they locked their truck 4 separate times, those people who have have 2 or 4 drinks, because an odd number just isn't acceptable. ;)

Just kidding, I'll explain in the morning haha

Approved by whom? What goes into obtaining this approval?

Just curious if there's some discernible consumer benefit to this approval. Thanks.

Approved by us, meaning that we tested them on a 3rd gen and have determined that they work for these models and are up to our own level of expectation for how a product should fit. We had many people asking us if they could be used on 3rd gens but we couldn't and wouldn't say yes until we verified this for ourselves.

So basically at the inception of this 23 year warranty idea, the company felt like there needed to be a better warranty than what they had at the time (I am not sure as to what it was unfortunately). And at that time, KC HiLiTES happened to be 23 years old. So that's why it is 23 years. We want to provide customers with a real warranty and for you all to know that we will actually honor it for that entire period. We didn't want to do a Lifetime Warranty as many people see that as a fake warranty, or feel that the company won't honor it, or think those are reserved for companies that haven't been around for more than 10 or so years.

Thank you for this insight. Really! It's interesting tidbits like this that makes sense, with a little explanation. I like how you said above that you've out-lived your warranty twice over so far. In all honesty, KC have quite the brand out there. At 40 years old, I still recall all the trucks with the roll bars on the back and the KC Lights across the top, man those were cool! So thinking way back then (mid 80's) knowing that if I bought a light from you and you'd honor it for 23 years, and why you landed on that number, is pretty cool. I can tell you. I work hard for my money and don't piss it away on fly-by-night companies that pop up and have some great warranty just to find out a year later no one is around to answer their phone or emails.

I'll spend a little extra for a reputable company that I know I can count on.

You @Taylor@KC HiLiTES have proven KC's commitment to customer service is still there and I commend you for that! A sincere "thank you"!

Since the thread was already bumped and I’ve been interested in these, I have a question too.

What is the purpose of the amber lights? It just looks so wrong (IMO).

They are actually better for bad weather conditions, they penetrate fog/rain/snow better than the whites which make it glaring. However while they throw light the same distance it isn't as "bright" to our eyes, so a lot of people prefer the white. And you might be surprised, but a lot of people run amber simply for the look!

Love mine along with the cyclone rock lights.

Along with the warranty you have amazing products made in the USA. Extra points for being in Arizona as well

Hey folks, just wanted to give an update to those of you looking for the Amber G4 fog lights. It looks like the Amber G4s won't be available for a couple more months. We're trying to have it back in action ASAP, in huge part due to the overwhelming positive demand from you all on TW for these fog lights!
