KD Max Pro Tune on my 2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road

Got my 2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road tuned today by @PapaRee

• Super nice dude and very easy to work with. He answered any questions I had and was showing me some of the comparisons between the KD Max tune and the stock tune.
• Quick and painless transaction and probably the smoothest transaction ever.
• He gave me some stickers and a coozie and also got a hat from him and love it all!

I went with the Sport Tune and have only had a short drive to work from his place but this is what I noticed already:

• Fantastic throttle response. Actually feels like I have control and can step on it when I need to and don't have to worry about the lag.
• The shifting makes it feel like a completely different vehicle. The shift points make sense and sometimes you couldn't even feel the truck shift.
• Feels more like a truck with an engine in it rather than some minivan that you almost have to floor it to get it to move or react.

Once the roads dry up I am going to do a 0-60mph to see the difference in the stock. I don't remember the exact number but stock was about 7.5s. I will post what the tune does on it once I get a chance to.

Overall this tune feels great and I was debating on getting the pedal commander to increase the throttle response but decided to go with the KD Max tune instead. I definitely made the right decision. Pay a little more and get much more of a benefit from the tune. I can't say enough good things about @PapaRee and this experience and definitely recommend him and his tunes.

I love my KDMax tune, I’ve had it for a couple years now. Best money I’ve spent on the truck.

Probably! I get it updated every once in a while, always worth the money.

 

0-60 and quarter mile with the tune! Sorry it took me so long to get this and post it lol. Top speed on the quarter mile was 94mph

 

Smart decision OP. I have been running KDMAX tunes since the beginning and every tune impresses me even more. Not bad numbers, looks like a perfect reaction time I assume the computer starts counting one movement is made. Pretty nice!

 

It’s criminal that the trucks didn’t leave the factory with this tune!
