Your OTT notes are very helpful. Thanks!

I like your fender flares. They are similar to these:

I more function over pricing. I found my bushwhacker fender flares "damaged" on Amazon . $67 for the front set and $52 for the rear set. The front is a flat finish and rear has textured finish. I don't care if front is different than the back in their finish. I needed protection and bushwhackers pricing was ridiculous. Received product and no seen visible damage to products. Boxes were pretty smashed up though lol. Back to the tuning I live on the Washington State Coast and I try to run any and all tunes as best to my abilities. We don't have much flat ground here and it really puts these tunes to the test. I give my best honest reviews so it can help other Tacoma owners . Here at sea level I can feel all of what has been modified in a tune and see what differences are changed , where things can be improved , and what is working great for heavier tacomas .

I am seeing solid miles with my use of KDMAX Pro-XT. I am a lite throttle user
Once the tuning platform has support I am sure all the major tunes will offer it. We've been informed it is possible and coming in the future so we are just being patient. Consider KDMAX Pro+XT today and ask the tuner for their take on getting an upgrade for support of adaptive cruise later.

I know I try to work with folks where I can, it's just good service!

Those "Bushwackers" are crazy expensive. (Compared to the ones I listed which are $200 for the set of front/rear)

As a matter of fact, I see they sell them in pairs for the front/rear each: $252.79 X 2 = $505.58

I put them in my basket and saved them for later...lol!

That's all we have here in Delaware is flatland! lol

Good to read your reviews so thanks for that.

So coming from Ott 7.0 I was really digging how their tune responded with my Tacoma here on the Washington State Coast. It gave me great trq and better uphill power . Was really impressed all around with OTT 7.0.

Now I've ran Kdmax pro+XT over 800 miles this week and wow what a huge improvement over the pro and pro+. @PapaRee Kdmax has really hit this outta the park on this upgraded version . With OTT 7.0 I was getting very close to stock mpgs. With the new pro+XT I'm at stock mpgs with my eyes closed. All week I have been just driving with my foot , no cc. I have sport throttle settings. I really noticed that I wasn't applying much pressure to my throttle compared to OTT. Kdmax made my truck feel lighter than ever going down the hwy at 60 to 65mph. Kdmax definitely increased the power in 5th gear. I'm able to pull most of the hills on my commute without hardly any downshift to 4th, I have one steep grade on my commute and I expect a 4th gear downshift. Once I'm to the top of that steel grade bamb it shifts to 5th pretty quickly. It blows my mind how refined this version of kdmax is . I've jumped back and forth on so many tunes . Don't get me wrong I was totally impressed with Ott 7.0 , they swept me away from kdmax. Not for long kdmax proved to me that they can still show you what they are made of and to me I'm totally impressed. I'm able without a doubt be able to cruise doing 65 to 70mph and have no worries about major downshifts with the new kdmax. Really the mpg increase with kdmax blew me away. With Ott I had to kinda work to get good mpgs . Kdmax again seems a lot easier to get better or if not great mpg. Man again I'm really impressed with the new kdmax . Now I'm gonna tell little bit about my truck. I'm a 2017 four door short box, I have stock gearing, 315/75/16s, afe throttle body spacer, ripp performance coils, kn performance intake, urd cross y pipe, mrbp performance exhaust, jtl oil catch can, 200lb warn winch bumper, badland 12k winch synthetic line, Rough Country 6" lift with adjustable coils, and my weight is over 5400lbs . I'll say this with Ott I was getting close to 145 miles on a 1/4 tank. With new kdmax I'm at if not slightly over 145 miles on a quarter tank. I run premium fuel. Why? Cause you get the best performance from any of these tunes . I will say kdmax pro+XT hands down is the top dog out there for tuning your Tacoma . ONLY I say again ONLY if your running a fat kid Tacoma. Now I do know Kdmax does have available kdmax pro XT. Which I'm sure would run great on maybe a stock Tacoma . Which probably would wanna go with a lighter throttle setting . I run the sport throttle setting do to my truck being heavier. One more thing to note , kdmax pro+XT really showed me you DO NOT HAVE TO REGEAR IF YOUR TRUCK IS HEAVY.

Almost forgot to add that also yesterday on my commute home I did try cruise control and that definitely has had a big improvement. My mpg and overall behavior of the shifting has had a great improvement. In our trucks the dang cruise control has always been a pain in the rear. The updated kdmax has made better improvements to the cc.

Ahhh one more note 6th gear holds much better than before . I'm able to cruise interstate 65mph in 6th . Little hills yeah I expect truck to react and naturally downshift to 5th . Once over slight hill it goes right back to 6th gear. I really want you to know that kdmax has improved the shifting logic in this version. This tune is so much more revised.
If anyone has more questions just PM I will be happy to answer any questions.

Really can't when it even ain't out yet . I'm sure I'll get a taste of it eventually . I'm all for giving tuners the best reviews I can provide . I look for their strong points and weaknesses. Try to give best details so customers have a better idea what they are looking for . We all experience different scenarios. We all have different setups. We all have different driving behaviors. I'm willing to donate my time and money to give tuners reviews so give customers the best judgement for their money to be spent . Lol if that makes any sense lol. It just blows me away how the tuners squeeze more and more out of these 3.5l

Here in Washington state we have so much different terrain. Me I live on the coast and I feel like I have the chance to really see what tunes are made of. Flat land is what we don't have much of on the coast.

Is it worth it to tune a plain stock 2022 SR5? Also, what recourse do you have if the tuner messes up your truck?

In my experience, yes, even a completely stock truck has a lot to gain with a tune. You will enjoy driving your truck much more after the tune.

If you go to a reputable tuner, like someone from www.Toyotatuningnetwork.com, they will cover any issues that arise (like a bricked ECU), or if any performance issues occur, they will work with you to figure out the problem and correct it.

    Stock truck no.

I would get pedal commander instead if I can do over. Instead I have vftuner now with throttle sensitivity up same concept as pedal commander. Once you tune it'll be harder for some folks to tune back to stock. I'm big fan of the up shifts on stock tune. Best mpgs imo

If you like the upshifts of stock tune I would recommend valley runner tuning . He does great work and has different throttle settings. When my Tacoma was stock the valley runner tune did great . I was getting over stock mpg.

Is there an updated version of KD Max? I had my truck done a year ago. It really helped the performance, be interesting if there is an even better option now.
