Sounds just like KDMAX Pro+XT. Great tunes for anyone looking....not sure why this thread persists actually since both tunes are solid and both rev as features are possible. Perhaps it's time to close this out

Not many comments from people who have tried both.

I've only experienced OV tune and a few KD max tunes up to pro. Very happy with KD max. I will say that Paparee sent me my first tune before I even paid and said try it out and see if you like it first. I can't remember where, but I recently saw a post that OTT would give you a tune for free and to contact a local tuner. I responded that I didn't need a tuner, but would love to compare if they could email the file and they responded that I needed to contact one of their tuners. I assume I would have to pay the tuner for the "free"tune.

I think it would be great to have a thread where people only talked about comparing tunes that have tried, not just how great the one they have is.

We're happy to let you try it before you buy. We very strongly believe in folks having what works best for them. This isn't a cash grab for us. We don't charge for updates for the work that should have been done from the start. But we don't just hand files out. Unfortunately a few unscrupulous individuals have pushed the "I want to try it" too far and been dishonest. We want our end users happy, but not by defrauding us of our time and IP.

We spend more time on the dyno proofing our work than I think anyone else in the Toyota tuning game and we need to recoup our operating costs to keep the development alive for the enthusiasts like yourself.

If you'd like to try out OTT I'd be happy to work directly with you as it sounds like you have your own VFT setup.

So I've spent the last 48 hours deep diving into tunes lol. Perks of having OCD is you research stuff to death! Hahahaha. I'm no closer to making a decision than when I started! I just want better shifting and if any performance or mpg comes with it than that's a plus. I never use my ECT button. Almost never go offroad. I daily drive around 40 miles round trip. Stock SR except for the trd accelerator intake mod and afe drop in filter. Exhaust coming soon. Leaning Blackhawk or OTT at the moment.

Honestly not sure why KDMAX Pro+XT is not on your list, it's got the basics that you want and the goodness you deserve. Every major tune is evolving and it seems the only folks that don't like KDMAX Pro offerings are our competition.

From what I read others say I got the feeling it would be too aggressive? I guess that's the right word. The Blackhawk and OTT seem like their milder or more for unmodded daily drivers. But again I've read numerous posts that have 40 plus pages so it's all muddled together at this point!

respectfully, the consistent feedback observed just from reading people's comments in this thread and elsewhere (and reported by people who have converted) is that the KD tunes don't offer as much low end. Which is fine, all of the tune styles cater to different benefits and goals, and there's nothing wrong with that.

just for a point of clarification for the Blackhawk tune only, the YWNEXUS Blackhawk tune offers different "tiers" for the tunes within the tune pack, to cover the preferences of several different driving styles and be appropriate for different truck setups. The BH Weekend Warrior tunes are more for casual drivers and lighter duty trucks, while Active Duty is generally the more appropriate choice for the other end of the spectrum.

Just wanted to expand upon that since the Blackhawk tune absolutely yields benefit for significantly modified vehicles as well. That's all.

That's just it, there's a lite throttle option that is certainly not aggressive and a proper tuner would guide you on the library of options we have with the reasons to select a higher/lower throttle...and then you test drive to ensure you end up with what is best for you. 3-throttle options have the various options covered and I will say most of my 300+ KDMAX Pro customers are unmodded or lightly modded daily drivers. Now put the high (Sport) throttle on a stock truck and yes it's too aggressive....the entire reason there a 3-levels to choose from.

Try them all is our stance. As @mZiggy stated, we've all got a different flavor and one tune isn't right for every application. We all do our best to encompass the widest possible audiences with our various versions/tiers. What's important to us is that you get what is right for you, even if it's not our offering.

Visit one of our tuners and take OTT for a no obligation test drive.

Yep, that's inline with the KDMAX Pro offerings. From tires/gearing/throttle options it sounds like we both offer the flexible options. I am not sure who would state otherwise but hopefully it's clear now no tune worth its salt is a 1-file for all offering. There's just too many builds and driving needs the options need to be offered.

That would be incorrect as of several month ago with the release of KDMAX Pro+XT.

Just switched from KDMAX Pro+XT to the OTT tune and my initial impressions are that OTT is a significantly better Tune. Smoother shifting, holds gears longer and no more gear lag and upshifilting at hwy speeds in 5hth & 6th gears, like before. Take from someone who started with OVtunes, then KDMAX tunes and now OTT; OTT is the best of the bunch IMHO. Thanx John for a great tune!

I'd like to understand more on your disappointment with Pro+XT. Did you apply the tune yourself? If so which throttle option where you on for your 2021? Can you describe the gear lag upshifting at hwy speed for 5/6th? Thanks!
