Exact same thing happened to me a couple of years ago using the legacy OV tuner. Same reaction as you and the same response from Kreg. We spoke on the phone within minutes of the mishap and he talked me through getting it resolved. Some “serious customer service in an oh shit moment” for sure!

As a tuner in the KDMax network I can confirm. Kreg and Dave (the KD in KDMax) are amazing. They are always Johnny on the spot if you need something. As are many of the other tuners in our network. As a customer you can rest assured you will never be left after the sale without support. Kreg, Dave, myself and the other tuners are always going to be here for you if you need something. The KDMax tuning network of tuners are a great bunch of people!

Kreg's helped me out in my pro-tuning capacity as well. In fact, the first time I called him for an error encountered during the tuning process, and having never spoken to him before that moment, he actually answered the phone "hello, Mike"! I was blown away! LOL. He had taken the time to preemptively store my phone number so he would know if I called. That spoke volumes to me about him! We really do make our very best effort to provide the best possible customer service for all of our customers, and Kreg and Dave both play a huge role in that for sure.

    Speaking of gas mileage…
    21.6 MPG
My best to date tank average from my Jackson, MS trip. Mostly secondary highways and interstate. Average speeds from 35 -72 mph. On average somewhere close to 60 mph.
    IMG_3480.png
Edit: Truck specs again 2022 Tacoma, 3”x2” lift, winch bumper, winch, steel sliders, on 33’s and about 50-75# constant bed weight.

Also speaking of gas mileage; I made a trip back to NY this weekend and where it would normally take a tank there and a tank back, I squeaked out there and halfway back on a single tank :D 324.6 miles on this one where normally I'd get 280ish, and I probably could've squeezed a teeny bit more out (5 miles DTE and only put in 18.8 gallons when I filled up). Considering the only things that have changed are going to kdmax 10 and adding a bed bar, im pretty happy with that! Saved me ~$120 I was expecting to spend on gas! All this on 35s and stock gears too, hybrid bumper, skid and sliders

After about a month on 10.0 and a variety of driving for nearly 1,000 miles, I can say the new version is the best yet. The Sport+ has been great on 5.29s. One note though, premium gas is noticeably better throughout the power band. Not sure if normal or lite benefit from premium but I'm a bit too heavy to live with the slower files so I'll leave that up to someone else to review. MPGs have been solid on all types of gas which is great since gears plummeted my highway fuel economy.

James stopped by this morning to get his 2019 Sport with 5.29 gears tuned. After a long road trip and a lot gear hunting James decided it was time to ditch the pedal commander and give KDMax a shot. After the test drive it was all smiles and already impressed with the smooth pull through the RPMs. Best of luck playing in the NC Mud and enjoy your newly tuned truck. IMG_2620.jpg

Got my tune by Hector @FL_TRD Sport last Saturday. I'm very happy with the outcome. Hector explained everything in detail, did the tune process step by step. Highly recommended, very nice and helpful. Thanks again Hector.

Here in Vegas met up with Max from MaxWorx for KDmax 10.0 for first tune on Tacoma. In parking lot tried out the sport throttle, parking lot perfect to see how it feels, low speed and take off. Found it a little too much too sensitive, it’s a truck not a sports car. Normal wad more drivable with excellent results. At first I was skeptical since it’s not a custom tune however I wasn’t disappointed. Max answered all questions and not pushy at all. Highly recommend him.

This is exactly what I hoping to hear from someone. I thought I was alone in the engine shuddering and almost VTEC feeling around 3k RPM. If V10 solves this the tune is going to be a great upgrade from v9.

Met up with Mike here in Reno and he is a great dude! Very helpful and professional and answered a lot of questions from a newbie. Installed the v.10 and haven’t had it long but the hour and half drive home was much better from a gear searching and lag in throttle compared to before. I realize these are computer readings but truck was registering better mpg on the way home then it did heading to Reno. Drive it the same and kept it roughly the same speed. So far so good. I went with the normal position as I usually drive chipped and deleted diesels and that position felt more like driving my big trucks. All in all I like it so far and highly recommend Mike if you are over here close to Reno!

Hey Dennis, thanks for the feedback man. Now take that thing on some trails to get ready for some good scouting. Should be a great season this year! Let me know if you need anything else. Enjoy!

Could be engine knock yes. Mine has come down considerably. After driving another 500 miles on 87, it seems the ECM has adjusted to the new normal. Truck is definitely more lively and fun to drive. Way, way better off the line.
I get some rev hang accelerating uphill at 2500-3500 rpm between 2nd/3rd/4th.
