    KDMAX 6.0

Increased the shift points in 3-4 and 4-5 slightly, due to the new torque maps.

Maybe we will get to lucky number 7!! LOL

you can see the commitment @PapaRee has, to making this the best flash available, and provide updates in a timely manner. it is a labor of love for him. being a tester is an honor, and privilege, for me. this max tune, is a big leap from the base 2.0, in my humble opinion. Ski

@PapaRee always has put out fantastic tunes, definitely shows HIS commitment to what he does. We all are looking for the Holy Grail of tunes, his hard work is getting us closer to finding/tuning that! I thought we were there at Kruiser 4.0 BUT he continues to amaze us with every new tune. Awesome Job!!

Read through this and I’m curious if there has been any data logging under load while towing? Curious how the knock tables and fuel trims look while loaded? I know factory tunes are prone to detonation but they are pretty conservative with timing under load. This tune checks all the boxes for me is why I ask lol.

KDMax is nice for fuel economy. Admittedly, there’s a ~3 mile-ish chunk of this mile route that’s a 45mph speed limit on the highway and another small chunk that goes down hill for probably 700-800ft or so - but still - cruise control shifting is about as pristine as I’ve experienced thus far with any tune - superior to the more tame OV2.0 dare I say. I bet I can average 24mpg on an entire tank. The 22+mpg displayed below is NOT 5.0 all 170 miles - it’s only ~20 miles KDMax. It’s a mixed bag of various tunes at the moment ranging from stock up to KDMax. I have been doing mpg testing.

To put this route in perspective, the best I usually get when trying to is ~24-25mpg after nearly 15 miles. This time I averaged 27.4. KDMax is about a 10% improvement on fuel economy for me.

It's worth noting that you won't get this being heavy on the pedal. I was trying to drive conservatively (with a performance tune lol). I didn't baby it per se to see if I could get over the moon or anything (I promise I can peg 30mpg if I tried but it would just be a meme, not realistic). I stayed 60mph for about half of the 15 mile route with a mix of mostly cruise control and some manual pedal work - which is to say I drove it like I've trained myself to drive under regular driving conditions. My truck is stock minus my aftermarket cat-back and I was on the regular octane version of KDMax.

KDMax is super smooth. The auto shifting is very nice. Obviously, you can squeeze phenomenal fuel economy out of it while also having all of that extra throttle and power at the ready from KDMax for quick acceleration if you need it. For our Tacoma's that are so under tuned from the car lot - this is exactly what our trucks need. You can get power and you can get fuel economy. What more do we need from our Tacoma's?

Haven’t towed anything but a small utility trailer. But I have been monitoring. We look at all the things you mentioned. KCLV, Knock F/B, misfires, VVT angles, temps., etc. Most use the OBD fusion app. Here is one of my dashboards. While climbing a hill on the highway.

I am going to pull my trailer this weekend and next week. Was going to upgrade to 6.0 this weekend. I will PM you my truck info. I can do some data logging in OBD Fusion while towing. Just need to know what you would like to see. My trailer is 4800 dry and about 5100 camp ready (we don't bring a ton of stuff).
