Headed from SLC to Moab next week. While I’m confident KDMax will drive well, the 75-80 mph speed limits with headwinds and hills all but guarantee sub 17 mpg if I’m lucky. I’ll be happy if I average 15+.

DCLB with 255/80/R17 E load tires, stock gears, sliders, skids, shell loaded for camping, 4 bike rack with 4 bikes, wife, kids, etc...

I’m lucky, my parents live on a ranch outside of Moab, so I’m down there quite a bit. It will be a zoo next week since all of UT schools are on spring break + Easter Jeep Safari. Glad we don’t have to camp or book a hotel...

Just to give a little more insight. I couldn’t even imagine if I first bought my turd and went straight to this tune. Would have been so much better than the slow progression over the last year and a half.

I put KDMax 6.0 on a 2021 yesterday with 250 miles on it. Owner will never know how bad the stock tune sucked. Stock tune hadn’t even learned to suck completely yet and I lobotomized it.

    14.5 - camper , 33’s , 4.88 and full of gear.

    Best prior was 12.5-13.2

I didn’t think I would get better but that was a nice surprise today.
    Enjoy

    So Cal (SFV)
I've been on KDMAX6.0 for under 50 miles, so if you want a review on how it runs after sometime, there are plenty.

My review is on gear lock and cruise control.

Gear lock wasn't working out in the beginning. I won't go into details because they don't matter. Kreg was on top of this till late night and early morning, answering my questions and sending updated versions. We went through a few versions before finally getting it to MD17 UD status. Gears hold as they should, but most importantly, shift when you want to.

I also tried out cruise control at 55 going to 67, in CC the whole time. FINALLY, the gears didn't drop to 4th, instead went to 5th and nicely caught up to 67mph. I'm sure it'll have different results in different speeds, but for the time being, CC is working great!

I'll post a better review after 2 tanks.

I loaded 6.0 and went for a 120 mile drive bucked 25 mph cross winds up and over hills and I averaged 18.5 MPG. No where as heavy as you what got me really excited was on the flat spots I watched my MPG continued to climb! :bananadance:

    Great feedback fellas!!
    I appreciate it.
    Glad ya'll like it!!

I got the Gearlock details from @Mooseditty17 ---The real Godfather of tuning!

If you have a tune that I made for you with Gearlock, test it out to make sure it works for you.
(@S2KON2 was having problems with his truck shifting from 5-6 in gearlock. Now it is fixed.)
