We all know the KDMax drives like a dream.
But I want to hear more towing experiences with 6.0. I tow(ed) often. Unfortunately, I won't be towing my 2700 lbs pop up anytime soon with the new job. No camping until summer :(

If you tow with the KDMax, post details please! Gear locked or not too*

So I did LV and AT reset then flashed the tune idled for a few minutes took wife to work 25mph in town then I needed to run to atm out of town so I approached the freeway on ramp gave her a little throttle and was running tarded like I hear when you reset LV and AT , but smoothed out , shut truck off at atm then back to truck start it up approach freeway no on ramp . Freeway 55mph so got on the throttle and away we launch and definitely launched 80mph no time . I let of throttle coasted back down to 55 mph and mpg starting to climb up with in a few miles got up to 65mph and fuel mileage instantly great seeing 20.5 mpg really impressed and yes quite the difference since 4.0 great work @PapaRee I'm excited to get some miles on this version. All I gotta say is I'll have all you guys with me on my trip starting at washington coast all the way to pikes peak colorado @Mooseditty17 @TermLimits. I'm interested to see what kind of results I'll get on the trip .

I'll definitely be testing the tunes through a variety of terrain and with truck loaded with gear . I want to stop at CAT scales on my way to check weight of truck . No trailer all our gear will be roof basket and bed of truck .

    Thanks for the feedback.
Just for future reference, you do not need to Reset AT and LV each time you flash. It is only needed if you are having "problems" like weird shifting or out of normal MPG's, surges, etc.
I have only reset my truck one time in over 1000 flashes.
If you are changing tunes, you do NOT need to reset AT and LV.

Well I have been on this forum for a year and a half and started trying to get my turd to run correctly from day one.Bought everything that Ovtune sold as in tunes. It was a long and slow process and I was never really happy. I live in the North GA mountains so shifting really sucked and the throttle sucked as well. Then I tried out the M to W and it was just a little too aggressive for me. Then Toyota finally came out with their tsb flash and I was pleased enough with it. Well I found this thread yesterday and contacted Paparee. I bought the 5.0 from him and have driven only 60-70 miles so far. This tune is awesome! Throttle response is just right, a lot more torque, holds gears perfect while climbing up the mountains, coasts down without down shifting aggressively like it used to. I haven’t heard back from him yet but the cruise works perfectly now. It does not shift into a lower gear, hunt for gears and raise the rpms. This is the best my truck has ever been.

    AHHH YEAAA!!
That is what I was waiting to hear!
I know that CRUISE CONTROL is better for me, I use it a lot. It holds 5th on almost every hill.
    Glad that you like it!
I was waiting for someone to comment on the CC being BETTER!!

Fwiw, supposedly oil temp is a calculated PID. Engine coolant + or - x degrees.

Just did 550 miles from Alabama to West Virginia with a fully loaded Alu-Cab Khaya Camper.

This tune exceeded my expectations. So smooth and perfect shifting. I was finally able to just keep the truck in drive and not manually shift it like before on the hills in WV.

    Super Stoked about this tune!!

I’ll report more after I finish the trip but this is so pleasurable to drive even with a heavy truck and hills...

    best,

    john

What's your mpg with that setup? I'm about to drive across the country with a fully loaded GFC. I probably need to get the kdmax before heading out.
