Just updated the flash tool. Is the tune file compatible with version 1.3 of VFTuner?

Get a KDMAX 6.0 and then drive like a sane person you will see the difference. I'm getting 20-22 in town and 24-26 on the highway.....

I'm 95% sold on dropping the coin but here's my question how does tune handle higher speeds. I'm talking about cruising at 100ish (MPH) anything over that it doesn't like it. (I'm in Germany so that's about average not too worried about MPG getting 12ish now.)

It should do just fine at 100mph cruising.
I have a guy in Texas that travels a lot and he said that he stays at high speeds- 100+mph on the highway with no problems.

Fwiw, I commute daily at 80-85 and it drops to 5th w/wo TC lockup very smoothly when needed. Carry’s 90 as well when needed. 100 is starting to push it when not on a toll road. Popo tax gets expensive at that speed

Does this support power gains from using 91 octane like ovtune?

It would, much like OVTune. Regular is a massive improvement, running a 91 tune would likely have a numerical advantage to regular octane. Personally I run the regular tune but with 91 octane in the tank as it will learn up to about 90 octane.

If you plan to only run 91 then the Premium tune is for you, just keep in mind you’ll want to always run 91 on that tune, it will learn up higher, just not lower.

Not sure if there’s really a noticeable difference with 87 vs 91. I’m sure premium has a few hp and a few tq gains but it’s probably best seen on a dyno/graph than in the seat, but I run premium anyway, lol.

But yes! There are separate tunes, and they are also octane learning.

Oh cool! I'm guessing I'll just have to reach out to them for the premium. And yeah, hoping it's the same as ovtune as they saw a 20hp gain on the dyno

Does anyone know what TSB they're using as a base? I've heard the latest TSB drastically reduces gearhunting but when I'm in adaptive cruise (untouched by kdmax), it still hunts for gears like mad

2021, never hunted for gears this bad til I flashed KDMAX (1-2k miles ago)

Noting that it's great regular driving, but 90% of my highway miles is on Adaptive Cruise so it's a bit of a waste (believe tuners are locked out of this, so it goes back to whatever TSB they're using as a base to determine the gear hunting)

For 2021 ECU, the tune does not change adaptive from stock. So when using adaptive or normal CC on a 2021 your truck is going to use the same shifting it did stock.

One explanation is because it hunts less in normal D and S mode, using CC will feel worse. Reality is adaptive and normal CC are using stock shifting logic. When vF tuner releases adaptive CC access, it will likely be fixed in future releases.

Those of u who have had this tune or even the OVtune for say 6 months or longer, have u noticed any reduction of performance since the tune was installed?
