I ran the OVTune from mid 2017 thru all the upgrades to June 2020, never noticed any reduction, pretty consistent. Now running some different TE member tunes to see what works best for me & my truck, not enough time on them to tell

I just got mine done in South OC and opted for the aggressive tune because I have 255/85/16's and would rather recalibrate my foot than the performance.

So far all I did was drive home and getting on the freeway was a huge difference....there was no eco-lag.
Also I live up a pretty steep hill and there is always a need for me to downshift it before the trans computer realizes it won't make it......the truck just went on up like it had a v8.

Looking forward to getting on some long drives and steep grades and that should be night and day!

@TWTaco Very happy I did this, it's very likely the Tacoma marriage saver!!

Very happy and I’ll definitely report back when I can get up to the steeper parts of the 5 or 178!

Thanks @GPatriot for tuning the Taco today.

We all know how terrible these trucks react on the highway from the factory, it's almost like 5th gear doesn't even exist...

Well, after the tune cruise control is actually usable, and the truck utilizes 5th gear!! The throttle response is phenomenal, and I noticed a significant increase on highway fuel mileage. You guys did a fantastic job on the tune. Let's not forget the added bonus, the good ol butt dyno detects a significant increase in acceleration.

From what I heard off Papa, normal CC is using the new tune, but not adaptive due to restrictions from vF Tuner.

Just sucks because if they're using a previous version of TSB as a base, itll use that when using ACC (alot of the gear hunting fixed on latest TSB supposedly )

How does one activate the normal CC and not the adaptive? I have a 2019 Tacoma and would like to try the non adaptive if possible and the new maps.

"They" can't downgrade your ECU version (TSB). Toyota doesn't allow for downgrading the ECU. AFAIK, all of the latest ECU's are now supported, including the most recent 2021. None of the tunes support changes to the adaptive cruise control however. That is a current limitation in the VFTuner software.

On my 2018 I can push and hold the CC button for a couple of seconds to get the non adaptive CC. Might work on yours too.

Mine is like that as well. Hold the button in to get to Non-adaptive. Keeps you at the same speed regardless of the cars around you. I always use this and drive around to keep my speed.

Anyone actually do some 0-60, 1/8 mile, 1/4 or any other performance testing with this tune? Maybe vs stock or even the Ov 2.0?

So I have a 2019 Off-road that performs terribly when I'm set on cruise control. I was running 5,000 RPM the other day before it shifted. There seems to be no consistency in the shift points, and I often have to manually shift it while I'm in cruise control. Based on what I'm reading, a tune will fix this. Am I right? What other things can I expect to happen that I may not want? Sorry for the noob questions. I'm pretty new to tuning.

On Regular Cruise (not Adaptive Cruise), it is much improved!! But not perfect. We got it the best that we could with the tools that we have.

So the tune will not improve adaptive cruise?

Adaptive cruise uses a separate tune map, and it is not accessible to us. I believe it is due to liability and changing the radar settings/distance.
