I don’t find any problem using ACC with KDM6. I get a smooth 6-5 going up an incline and a return to 6 when levelled off. Maybe I have a unicorn? Maybe the ACC worked well before KDMax?

I’m long overdue on a review but having been driving with this tune for over 3k miles, I finally fully enjoy driving this Tacoma.
Thanks to Vic at TampaTuning (sorry don’t know his handle here on TW) he was thorough through the process and let me try out a couple throttle settings before making the decision. I went with the LT and it’s responsive as hell. Fun to drive and picks up right away.
Highway driving is finally great and cruise doesn’t jump around.
I almost sold my truck and this was my last attempt and glad I got this tune.
Great job guys and thank you!

What is the logic behind such an approach? From a programming standpoint, it would appear to me that it is easier to use one centralized shifting algorithm based on a myriad of inputs, among them requested throttle. This decouples the input so it can be supplied from multiple sources like our foot via the accelerator or the ECU as it uses other algorithms to determine how much juice it needs (whether in normal CC or adaptive).

Send that to Toyota corporate. Not sure if you’ve looked at a 3rd Gen tune vs other trucks in vF, but Toyota programmers went nuts on the 3rd gens.

I have not compared it to other trucks, no. But I have heard Matt say countless times how baffled he is by Toyota's mindset. And countless people on here who praise the tunes (rightly so) for making the mighty Taco what it should've been from the lot. I can't help but ask questions!

Vlady - I'm focusing on this right now as well... Starting from stock and building from there to try and isolate.. Frustrating !

    I'll keep you posted.

Hit me up if any luck.
Wondering if I disable ACIS will help with upshift
But I bet this is where we need a programmer....to look through the code

I certainly will. If I get anything I’d love if you could test it in the hills there. Alabama is a bit flat.

Soooo, I've got a buddy still on 04B03, he has VFTuner and now can update to 1.3.0 with ECU update support. Figured lets get him on 04B04 - but check it out. The program directory has 04B05 instead, I didn't even know that existed yet personally.

Any plans to update KDMax 6.0 for 04B05? If he flashes to that, I assume the current 04B04 tune file would not work at all or break something. Seems it doesn't read .CUW files that the ECU update thread has to put it on 04B04 for the current tune. Odd.

Wasn't finding much info on 04B05. Or if VFTuner can update to 04B04 with the correct file perhaps?

You could just use techstream and update to 04b04.
    I haven't had anyone ask for 04b05.
04b04 is what I run and it is solid! My truck runs great.
If it were me, I would use the CUW for 04b04, then get the tune for that from me.

Solution-The 04b04 is a vft file. You are looking at the vfc files. There should be a dropdown box to select vft files.

Cool deal. Would be nice if VF came with the 04B04 file for folks that don't have techstream. Granted, it's not a difficult install at all, I installed it just to turn off the gosh darn seat belt chime. Don't know why I waited 5 years to do that. I'm sure he'll get it sorted with Techstream. If he's on 04B03 I'm not even sure he's got the current 2.0 tunes, might still be on a variant of 1.05. But - he's got VF after trading in the dongle, so there's that! Just needs some KDMax goodness with the lift and larger tires it has. Mine feels great and it's stock weight/height, can't imagine adding more to it.

Yep, I just checked. You just need to select vft instead of vfc. to get to the 04b04 file.
    Simple fix.

Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is an available advanced driver-assistance system for vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.
It came out in 2018 Tacoma's (I think). I have a 2016, so I do not have it.

    Do seat covers count?
It's a night and day difference. Cruise control is actually useful on a longer trip now.

Yes, you can use the Lite Version of Vftuner. It is good for 1 truck. But you can flash any tune to that 1 truck. You just can't open and edit files and you can't flash multiple trucks.
