    Only other option would be to remove your ECM and send it to me. I just made a harness to bench flash ECUs. You’d be without your truck until I shipped it back though. Just let me know.

    Step 4 should be more like, "Use 4 of 9 credits to unlock ECU ID." then Step 4.5- "Use 4 of 5 credits left to unlock vehicle ID (VIN)" or vice versa

    I am biased, but I’d say MUCH better!
    KDMax is a Performance tune. OVtune 2.0 is a base tune. 2 very different tunes.

    OVTune is better than stock by far, but not anything like the KDMax. The base tunes and software developed by OVTune are owed a debt of gratitude for providing the foundation, but the KDMax tunes are much better in driveability, performance, and fuel economy. MUCH.

    Noob question. Say we install the KDMAX tune, and for some reason we get "stuck" pumping 87 octane instead of 91 at a gas station. Would the ecu automatically retard timing for compensate for the lower octane?

    Both tunes are octane learning OL. The regular octane is good for a range of 85-90. The premium tune is good for 90-95. So if you are running the premium octane tune, you should run premium gas. But if you are on the regular tune, you can run either.

    KDMax comes in both 87 & 91. The 87 tune you can run any octane but on the 91 tune you dont want to run lower then 90. The timing will not retard for the lower octane.
