The 140 mile drive to Corpus Christi on KDMax 6.0:
A dirty, direct 20mph headwind was the pits the whole way down.
Due to the wind, fuel economy was at 15.8 driving 78-82 the whole way no cruise control.
It was the kind of headwind you actually feel.
A real mpg killer no matter what tune your Tacoma is running.
BUT, even with hills and strong headwinds I never hit 4th gear once except to pass where I deliberately floored it.
    Exceptionally smooth shifting all around.
That alone is a damn miracle.
I’ve made that drive literally about 100 times when OVTuned and never had even close to the pleasant driving experience I had on the way down with the KDMax.

15.8 in those conditions and speed are pretty nice! I bet you see 20 easy without that wind!
    Thanks for the feedback

@G8R_Taco we may need to meet up again next time you're down this way... I've been digging the Kruiser tune... But at some point I may need to try this new KDMax tune...

Damn great review I was experiencing these strong winds here on the washington coast . Best I was getting was 16.2 mpg trying to do 60mph speed limit. This afternoon was good drive home on kdmax 6.0, was at 20.1 pulling into driveway.

Well, not much seat time, 20 miles of mixed highway and surface streets. (on the reg file) Feels really good so far.
Everything feels smoother (best way to put it)
I will post more as I get more miles under.
    Nice work to the creators!

Have been driving Kruiser 4.0 for about a month and have been very pleased. Upgraded to KDMax 6.0 (regular tip-in) this weekend and very impressed with limited seat time. Just a more refined tune - shifts like butter, great torque and holds 6th in cruise. Heading north this weekend so will give it a workout in the mountains and I’ll report back later on mpg.

Net: if you are on the fence about a tune or upgrading from Kruiser 4.0, just do it and load up KDMax 6.0.

    Thanks for the feedback.

So this is the MT guy who went from 2.0 SFOB to KDMax. I have been getting questions about the difference. @JDKred is the man to ask!

I have about 60 miles on the new 6.0 tune. Throttle is a bit touchy, changed over to the LT tune and its a lot better. Without a doubt it holds 5th and 6th better than the ov 2.0 premium tune. It’s really nice to drive on the freeway so far I’m liking it.

I have found that there are people like Dave and me who love the throttle turned up, and there are people who do NOT. That is why i decided to make the tunepacks like I did with that option.
I feel like once you get used to the throttle turned up, you can never go back! LOL
Dave, me and Nick (@Uscgamecock7) are all actually running a custom KDMax with the throttle turned up even more.

It might be because I can’t drive worth a shit with my work boots on haha. It was just the initial take off, for sure just need to get use to it. But man it’s so nice on the freeway.

Do you guys see an issues towing with this tune? Also, do they all have gear lock or is that something we have to request? I assume without gear lock ect would work as normal?
