I had the previous KDM6 SLT tune and enjoyed it. Upgraded to KMD6 Reg Agressive after getting 33s. it was nice and responsive when I first got it, but after a few hundred miles it started to give me some pedal lag, gear hunting on hwy, and my MPG dropped to 13 on hwy.

I recently upgraded to KDMax Pro Sport. So far things feel better. I dont want to jump the gun yet, and do a review. Seems like the tune feels a bit different after it settles. Noticed it on my KDM6 SLT and Reg.

Dave is hooking me up on Saturday in Fresno and I'm coming from stock. I've got 33's and a bit heavy in the back with a drawer system, camper shell, Dakar AAL, yada yada. I'm having trouble deciding between going with the normal and the lite. I work from home, don't drive a lot or drive fast (not looking for a race truck) and don't see much if any traffic. Really don't want to take away from the off-road capabilities and was hoping someone could weigh in on whether or not I'll wish I went with the normal if I got the lite (no carbs) version or visa versa. I'm stoked on getting the AGM voltage settings, and overall just looking for improvement on the truck hunting for gears. I'm not opposed to more responsiveness, but am concerned it might take away from the off road drivability. Thoughts anyone?

Honestly I think Sport has the best of both worlds. It may take a little more time to get used to a more responsive throttle but having the responsiveness there when you need it can be a must when your loaded out. At the same time I have no problems driving casually and getting good MPGs for my setup. Got 18.5mpg up and over the Santa Cruz mountains with 2 hard accelerations passing slow cars. The truck doesn’t feel like it has to drive like a sports car. My 2 cents.

I'm noticing this on the pro , pedal lag and gear hunting came back . I need to do a reset and reflash tune. My mpg are good which is wierd.

You don't think the Sport would take anything away from driving off-road?

Any tuners gonna be in the NYC/Tri-State area in the coming week? I'd love to get the tune on my '21 SR-5.

I’m stock and got the SLT tune in early October. I’m getting the upgrade this weekend. I daily my truck and do lots of interstate driving. I love an aggressive throttle, but will the Sport be too much?

I thought sport was going to be too much coming from 7.0 LT but it really does allow you to have the acceleration and throttle response when you need it but can also drive pretty calm once you learn how the throttle responds.

The sport option seems to be the go-to even for those who are upgrading from 6.0/7.0 SLT or LT. It’s so much smoother that it makes the extra sauce very manageable. In any case, your tuner will very likely let you try the options to make sure you’re on the right one for your preference.

Take it for a test run. Sport throttle is really smooth and linear.

Thanks to all for the quick feedback. I was leaning towards the Sport tune, and the input supports that. I’ve already been worlds happier with the SLT > stock, so I’m looking forward to another upgrade.

I feel coming from the SLT, which probably initially took some learning to get used to the throttle coming from stock, going to sport is easy. It's a tiny bit different to adjust to and feels great!

I plan on getting KD max. My only concern is that my Tacoma is my daily driver, and a friend of mine warned me about having problems. He called it the Christmas tree lights - when all the lights come on and goes haywire. Anyone have these issues?
