Only time I've heard of a situation where this has happened was if they were also trying to use another product like a pedal commander or sprint booster with the KDMax tune and the actual cause is the secondary device itself and is not associated with the tune.

That only has happened to me when I’m tuning the ecu but it only happens during the tuning process of the ecu which is normal. Not sure if he’s referring to that

I am running "Lite". I would suggest giving them all a try before you decide on which to stick with. Lite works great for my needs, but if I did more driving over longer distances, I would be on "Normal". Sport is super fun to drive, but when running it, my foot becomes heavy and my mileage goes way down. Regardless of which you chose, you will be happy.

Only have ~50 miles on KDMax Pro but the difference in driveability from 7.0 is very noticeable! I was on the fence about upgrading but I'm glad that I did.

I'm taking my pickup in for a timing chain cover leak on Monday. Did you flash back to stock before taking it in?
    Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure @PapaRee brought his in for a timing cover leak with the tune and they were none the wiser.

Yes. I took mine in for that repair under warranty. I did not flash back to stock.
They test drove it after the repair (put 8 miles on it), and the tech told me "man, your truck runs good!"

Yep. There is a thread about that oil leak. It seems the 16 and 17 models had quite a few. But it’s covered under the power train warranty 5 yr/60k
