Almost a week with my kd max pro tune from @InternationalHarvester and couldn’t be happier so far! Went with the sport throttle. Truck drives like it should have from the factory in my opinion. Gonna go through a couple tanks and maybe see about trying the medium tune but it’s been awesome so far. Absolutely no regrets. Mike is super knowledgeable and responds quickly. Had a good time hanging out with you for a bit Mike! Thanks again!

I just flashed my truck from kdmax 7 to the pro. I have only drove a little and I think there is a noticeable difference between the two. It is everything they say it is! Good power smooth take off good low end. I will say this is a great tune!

Flashed my rig with KDMax Pro sport mode a couple nights ago, and I have to say it is hands down the best tune out there right now. It is probably the most refined setup out there. Toyota should have Kreg and Dave on their staff.

I was impressed how smooth the throttle is now over my previous version with light tip-in. I haven’t had a chance to test it on the trails, but can already tell it will do great. The truck still needs a couple hundred miles to learn and settle in, but shifting is already smoother and does great on my daily 75+ mph freeway commute. Very responsive downshifts when I need to pass in a hurry and no worries getting up to speed turning quickly onto a fast paced city street. A huge thanks to all the helped test out this out.

if anyone is on the fence about upgrading from stock or any other tune…do it. You won’t regret it.

Same tip-ins available for MT trucks? Sport, normal and lite?

Hey there @Taco_Bob62 it was nice meeting you and I’m glad we were able to dial in on your throttle response preference. Thanks for the shout out and enjoy the tune Bob!

Hey Christian, hit me up any time buddy. We are always happy to help any way we can. Glad you’re giving it a chance on Sport. This is the one that literally every customer who I personally have upgraded has landed on. I think it has a lot to do with customers using 7.0/6.0 as a gateway tune… once you have some, you can’t get enough! Joking aside though, let me know what you’d like to do and we’ll get you taken care of!

Yes. We have these throttle settings.
The tune is the same, but throttle settings/sensitivity are different.
    1. Sport throttle- Aggressive, linear (most popular)
    2. Normal throttle- Used for Daily Driving but aggressive and linear
    3. Lite throttle- Close to the Stock throttle but optimized to be linear and smooth

How does the pro compare to the 7.0? Thinking of switching to the latest and greatest if it’s worth it.

here's my thoughts on it now around 350 miles. The Pro tune, in my most basic description, so much smoother. Throttle lurching is fixed, upshifts and downshifts are way smoother, with downshifts holding good RPM. All this combined, at least for me, leads to my truck getting up to speed, and sometimes more speed than I thought, much faster and much smoother.

So, takeaway. A fine tuned, smooth, tune! :D

100% worth the upgrade. The previous version was a bit quirky with shifting on my truck, but I upgraded to the pro tune, and it's all smooth as butter now. Feels superb.

Thanks this is good advice - I'll wait until 1500ish miles. My 2022 doesn't really feel all that slow from the factory to be honest. I'm curious if they've updated some throttle settings. It's certainly no speedster but I don't feel underpowered. I guess I'll find out eventually.

Sitting in my deer stand in God’s Country!
Yep, every truck and every person is different. I tuned a 2022 today and the guy said his truck felt “heavy”, underpowered and downshifted too much on the highway.
After the KDMax-Pro, he said it feels light, “peppy”, and shifts are smooth and predictable.
I think it also depends on what you drove prior to the Tacoma. And what you are used to.

It's been about 3 weeks since flashing Pro. It's juicy. Spicy. It's not a pain to meander about parking lots in 2nd or 3rd anymore.

I’m scheduled to get my 2021 6MT tuned tomorrow (and can’t wait); am I correct in thinking there are three choices I’ll need to choose from? Sport, Normal, and is it Light?

If so, I honestly don’t know which one to choose; any tips? Are there any hand-wavy numbers on each option? For example:
    - Light is 10% better than stock
    - Normal is 40% better
    - Sport is 80% better

“Better” is obviously a lousy metric here, but it’s an example for lack of a better term.

    What do y’all think?

I would try sport first see how that feels for you. Then you can go down from there. I know your winter weather is pretty bad so going lite throttle until you start to thaw out then jump up to sport for spring and summer maybe the way to go. Your tuner can help you decide. MT's really do great on the sport throttle.
