I’ve flashed maybe 15 times with 1 soft brick. Still have no idea what caused it but it was rectified easily enough.

Always a chance for a brick but more likely not with the updated flash window and .vfc files.

Here's my review after about a week of driving. The suspension and tires wheels on my truck are currently stock, I got the sport tune.

PapaRee was very helpful with the installation. He met me on his way to the hunting camp for the weekend while i was traveling South headed home from a work trip. Instalation only took 10 or so minutes, and I got some swag out of it, too.

The difference was immediately noticeable. I took 30 miles of windy hilly back country roads to get back to I-10 and had an absolute blast driving them. Passing slow cars seems effortless now, shifting is significantly smoother, and the gear hunting is gone.

The next day I I drove across the causeway (24 mile long very flat bridge) and averaged 24.1 mpg with the cruise set at 73 mph... I was very surprised by that. Granted the causeway is about perfect conditions for mpg when there's no traffic, but I used to get 19mpg at best.

I did 300 miles of interstate driving on Monday headed north. I kept the cruise between 75 & 80 mph and averaged 18.2 mpg. I do this trip often and would average ~16mpg.

I'm having a little bit of trouble modulating the throttle at low speeds. Nothing terribly bad, but something to think about. From a dead stop I don't find it Jerky at all, but I've found myself in stop and go traffic a few times and it feels a little touchy. When I'm just drifting ~10 mph and then give it some throttle I have a hard time modulating it. I'm getting used to it, but I might switch to a Normal tune at some point. We'll see.

All in all this tune is a must have imo, and honestly Toyota should be ashamed they sell them the way they do knowing now what's possible. I would say I'm averaging 2-3 mpg better than stock, this alone will pay for the tune pretty quickly as much as I drive.

    Thank you Paparee, great product.

Any there an installer in south Texas, McAllen area?

I’ve been reading on this thread and I’m very interested in the tune. I’m new on here and new to Tacoma. Coming from Ram, I’m spoiled with the smooth 8-speed shifting. My Troopy is laggy and slow to response, to the point my wife points it out every time. Now, I know it’s not a Hemi nor does it have an 8-speed, but I’d like better shifting, quicker response, I do light tow/haul, and would like to maintain mpg or better. Any recommendations?? Thanks gents.

When installing the tune do you guys always reset the Values? I usually do but forgot to after installing the pro tune.

dang that's interesting to hear.... I'm getting the tune done tonight.. I have the Borla which I think is fairly similar to the TRD exhuast. I'll make an effort to pay attention to the exhaust before and after

This sounds more like what I'm looking for. I guess I don't really understand the differences in the tunes. Is it just throttle input? Meaning I just push the throttle in a bit further to acheive the same beans, but shift points, ect stay the same?

Yes, exactly. The tune is the same, just the throttle settings are different. But in the higher range of throttle (40-100%), it is the same.

met up with @G8R_Taco tonight to get the KDMAX-PRO and I couldn't be more amazed at the difference. He was incredibly helpful and got it done so quick. Truck is a completely different animal now. Kicking myself for not doing this sooner. Thank you very much @G8R_Taco!!!
