I found this video very informative. Go to the 2:30 mark. AMD goes into details about "Driving Response And Acceleration Management System" and "Force Value."

Taking this all into consideration, I think Toyota's Engineers designed the computer software to control the engine and transmission to meet stricter EPA & MPG guidelines.

End user is left confused and frustrated with the truck always trying to burn less fuel by shifting into the next higher gear in the transmission and keeping the RPM's as low as possible effectively reducing EPA emissions and increasing MPG's.

I'm seriously considering this tune as well.

Sport Tune would be my suggestion. A good test drive will tell you if its too much or if you need something more custom. All the MT owners I have worked with for KDMAX Pro are all on Sport and they really like it.

The first big plus I have experienced with this tune is the level of customer service. Their confidence in their product is clear.

The developers and tuners all seem to be on the same page with the same goal..... your satisfaction.
They are right there to answer all questions almost instantaneously, (even for the umpteenth time) with patience and without a hint of making you feel like a dope. I don't see anyone getting blown off because the info can be found somewhere else if you would only do the research.

This not only inspires you to trust in what they are offering but builds your own confidence in your decision.

I've seen so many videos by this guy - he knows his stuff. I think it's important to remember that Toyota makes this vehicle in the lower trims as a fleet vehicle. It's the work truck for companies around the world. I imagine there are certain benefits for Toyota, monetary and otherwise, for ensuring an immensely popular fleet vehicle is tuned for efficiency rather than performance. Also, they probably want to make sure the insurgent's technicals can't out-run heavily-armored military vehicles. I say that only partially jokingly.

It's gonna take a long time for me to make amends with my truck.... I've cursed it everyday for 4 years, even called it a "she"....

After this tune however, "she" has grown a pair overnight and is a pleasure to drive, :benchpress: I might even start referring to it as a "him" !

I've tried the others and must say this tune really makes a noticeable difference.

Imagine doing 55 mph in 5th and gently pressing the skinny pedal and having instant power under your foot ? :bikewheelie:

There is a lot said here about gas mileage but I must admit mine took a little hit, only cause I can't stop racing hither and yon ! :burnrubber:

A Big Thank You and tip of the hat to the group that put this all together ! :hattip:

Thanks for the heads-up. I see a Surrey time slot available. Did you have the KDMAX-PRO service done by Yota Tune as well? How was your experience?

It's from the heart Mahn and people here should know, I ain't a shill. I don't know you guys any more than the rest of us here do.
I'm just relaying my experience so far. Ya puts down your money and ya takes yer chances...

I'm not just goo-goo gaa-gaa over this either....
I'm not a youngster and have been around cars and bikes since I was 9, some of it at the track.
I took automotive at the voke during high school as well.
In fact I actually used to be able to diagnose and work on mechanicals before this new age of drive by wire arrived ! :angrygirl:
    Now I'm just a good R & R guy.

Some stuff is good, some stuff is pretty good, but some stuff Really Works !

This KD Tune is one of those products.

3 weeks ago I had a '19 5.7 Tundra Limited under agreement and balked at the last minute because of the mpg's....but I was certain I was done with this Tacoma after 29 years of having one in the yard..... man am I glad I waited !

"KDMax-Pro" tune is what I think your asking ?

I started with Normal which I found a little jumpy under my hoof and went to Lite.... I don't think it affects the rest of the tune, just the tip-in.

My gig puts me under the spotlight of many people and I don't want to risk a misunderstanding or shoulder the wrath of them calling me out for being an angry cowboy (any more than I am  ) kicking up dirt and stones as I speed away from their site.

That action could be viewed many ways and I prefer to leave most situations slowly controlled and quietly.....
Other times I just can't help myself and I believe KD-Max will help me with that too !
