Better hang on to the rest of that bonus 'cause my guess is when you feel how nice your truck runs with this tune, you'll be inspired to buy all kinds of other cool stuff for it !

This is an impressive compliment of the tune.

Been eyeballing it but thinking I'll run it up my priority list.

Yeah the Tundra is a BIG truck. I wish they would bring back the original Tundra as the new T100. I think they would sell. Not too big, not too small.

Thanks to Alex (@TacoNesian) for going through with the tuning event in Little Rock today. Weather kind of sucked this AM, but I guess a little snow is better than rain. Truck runs great (KDMax-Pro Sport)!

Some middle-aged lady in a Camry yesterday had the gall to pull out in front of me going slowly in a 55mph zone. When I got in the left lane to pass her, she accelerated quickly attempting to keep pace. Thanks to KDMax, I had the power to out accelerate her, pull back into the right lane, slam on my brakes, and make my right turn like a giant a-hole. Thank you @PapaRee for giving me the ability to drive my truck like a native Kentuckian.

After about 1,000 miles, I can say the Pro Sport is fantastic. The upshift and down shift schedule is perfect in every scenario. Gas mileage is great and RPMs on the highway are contained. Thank you @PapaRee.

Thanks Don @#NEVERGIVEUP for driving in this morning. We got Don's sweet looking 2017 Overlanding Beast tuned with KDMAX-Pro with Sport throttle and 5.29 gear settings.
Don's rig is pushing 7000lbs she is a healthy girl! The KDMAX-Pro tune with the 5.29 settings are going to be a perfect match with your setup.
Look forward to hearing how your enjoying your truck with the Pro tune. It was good meeting you!

it's the same the with MT. i test drive a MT Crosstek and just couldn't believe how weak that sauce was. that's saying alot compared to a 2017 stock MT Tacoma... the 17's & 17's were awful too.

    Time for an update….

I originally had a 2018 DCSB OR tuned with KDMAX 6. And loved the tune, and the SLT throttle setting.

At 39,000 miles my truck threw an check engine light. After troubleshooting and 30 days in the dealerships shop I picked it up with one new head and exhaust valves and all that goes with that repair.

I felt violated. I lost confidence in the truck. As soon as I was driving away from the service department I noticed no AC. Returned and after another hour “you’re good to go” they said. We’ll long story short I couldn’t get the “what next” out of my head, and traded up for a 2022 same model.

I had spoke with Kreg on the “should I leave the tune” questions and afterwards did. I had no questions from the dealership or issues for those wondering.

As soon as I could I made an appointment to get the new truck tuned along with my pastor who recently bought a 2021 Sport DCSB. We both went with the PRO and Sports throttle.

After a 1000 miles mine still felt sluggish and had a dead pedal when trying to accelerate while passing. The pastors felt light and nimble like I remembered my first tune on the 2018. And he recently towed a 18’ flatbed trailer with his and said it did great!

After spending an hour comparing trucks I felt mine didn’t get all the beans with the flash and perhaps a re-flash was needed. Now the pastor truck is 2 wheel drive and that probably played into its quicker smoother response and just overall better drivability???

My fuel mileage had a noticeable decrease unlike the first tune where it gained about 1-1.5 mpg. Again improved mpg are not a guarantee and every truck is different, but with the smoother shift points it just make logical sense to see some improvement.

Now here where Kreg and Dave really shine and I’m sure the whole Pro tuner staff. I called Kreg with my observations to get his thoughts and recommendations and a sanity check if I was being too sensitive in what I was feeling/expectations. This was since I had a base line from the KDMAX6 tune.

Kreg recommended a re-flash which meant another drive to LA and a little more road time to observe.

Once there Kreg re-flashed and I got lost on the test route Kreg laid out and wound up doing about a 50 mile loop .

And I still couldn’t decide if it took the flash ‍♂️ I asked Kreg to drive it for the sanity check. Now Kreg lays the beans to it and say “It’s there”.

But since Kreg wants a completely satisfied customer even one whose foot has lost its calibration. And since I had mentioned I loved the KDMAX6 tune he said let’s try KDMAX7 that had a few minor changes to smooth out throttle tip in and see if it fix the bill. I went with LT this time and it is smoother on tip in than the old SLT and quite comparable to the Pro sport setting.

If after testing I was good I would just call him and head home, which is what I did. Also Kreg sent me away with a “Care package” to make up for the drive etc…Which was not necessary or required, but appreciated (I won’t disclose what was in it as he can’t do this for all but it’s been really good :dancingbacon:

So now after that Long intro here my thoughts on the KDMAX7 compared to the PRO. 1. I like better mileage over quicker tip in or hot starts. This tune after about 925 miles has had tank averages of 18.9, 18.7,and last one 19.7 on Fuelly. Today I have averaged 22 mpg after 100 miles with mixed back road driving (70 mph to low of 45 mph). The truck logs and Fuelly appears to have a .5 difference between them. On PRO I was averaging 18.5 on truck logs over same roads/conditions and had a low tank average of 16.9 (never seen it that low before). So I see a slight improvement and seems to be getting better each tank.

    2. I don’t sense any great lost in torque over the PRO’s slight edge. Still has plenty of power when needed. Kreg stated top end was better with 7.

    3. Great shift points for what I need, maybe just a little longer hang time than ideal for my driving style. I would prefer perhaps a little quicker shift to get to 5th or 6th on the back roads I travel and drop rpm’s lower for a little better mpg’s. But that probably risk returning to the dreaded stock shift patterns.

Now if Kreg and Dave could developed a tune for us Paw Paw’s that want smooth shifting, great drivability, be able to climb tall mountains (or was that leap tall building:rofl:) and squeeze every drop of fuel mileage that would be sweet:evil:

I’d say their pretty well close to it now. But can’t let them rest on their laurels, lol (love you man).
