I met @GPatriot today to get the Normal throttle tune on my Inferno 2017 ACLB AT, and couldn't be happier! John was easy to work with and knew I was making a longer drive so he let me know of another weekend when he'd be closer to save me time. Quick, answered all my questions, and friendly.

As for the tune, I'm glad I went with Normal throttle. Response is so much better, and shifting is smoother and more predictable. I hate to echo what everyone else says, but the reviews are spot on; this drives like a different truck and how it should have been from the factory. Night and a day difference, and even my wife in the passenger seat said it felt better. It was all highway with some hills along the way in Appalachia, but I averaged 21.4mpg on the way there and a reported 25.9 mpg on the way back. All stock except for a topper and cross bars on top (I should really take those off when I'm not using them). Great job, KDMax Pro team!

Grabbed a tune from @Stormpeacock in Atlanta today. Only drove 15 miles to get back home, but it’s a new truck. I’d have paid triple what I did. Super solid guy to work with and for me in on a Sunday. Couldn’t ask for more.

Been running the OVtune on my 21 OR and after the 'learning' cycle it's complete garbage. Bad throttle response and the shift points are still super low.. barely gets to 2k rpm and I'll be doing 30mph and be in 5th gear.

I'm worried that the same will happen with the KDMAX tune: Starts out great during learning cycle and then rapidly degrades to basically stock. Can anyone comment on this behaviour?

Not going to happen with KDMAX tune. I’ve been on the pro tune for about 3 months now. Runs as good, if not better, than day of tune.

Previous KD Tune I ran for about 8 months and same

I've been in the habit in my A/T of basically just shifting it into S-mode and then 5th instead of D to avoide the lugging in 6th gear. It sounds like with a tune that would be a thing of the past? I keep hearing the truck "learning" your driving habits, does it still "learn" after a tune?

What if my driving is really variable (highway, in town, county roads, etc)?
Am I just "confusing" it by running in "S" mode and occasionally in D, or doesn't that matter?
Does "S" mode just limit the top gear it'll shift into, or does it actually change shift points (kind of like ECT)?

Sorry about all the questions, thanks for all the info on this thread!

    Ok, great.

I was worried because, driving in Vancouver, it's REALLY slow. I'm barely over 40km/h during a city drive and was worried that this is putting the learning cycle into Grandma mode

The way mine works in the Wpg city drive is it never sees 5th gear until I’m at 75km/h or above. 40km/h usually means I’m in 3rd gear.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Looking forward to seeing a Chicago date pop up again. Really should stop spending money for a couple of months and get caught up but this is something that I feel I need to get done. A co-worker had his done over Christmas in Wausau and raves about how well his truck runs.

Anything special to be done for oversized tires?

Yes, ran KDMax 6, now Pro. I requested that Kreg set it up so that my city driving below 75km/h is in gears 1 to 4. The rpm gets higher than some would be comfortable with but there is no rush to get to the highest gear possible as with the factory tuning. Makes driving this truck an absolute dream. You’ll like it.

That's too many voodoo blue's in one parking lot. One more and the riot police would have been deployed! Treading thin ice, you degenerate voodoo owners :bananadead:

At least some sensible taco owner had the common courtesy to park in between you guys.

Yep, that sounds ideal. there's absolutely no reason to be anywhere north of 4th in the city, even with 5.29s
