    Oh man…
Pro+, normal throttle for a good friends 22 Sport AT. After some joyful swear words and a lot of giggling it’s good to hear “My truck doesn’t suck anymore!” Suck an awesome tune for these trucks!

The Pro+ is hanging on to gears a bit longer than my custom Pro. Kind of like having ECT turned on. The shifts didn’t bother me, I just like where they’re set on the Pro tune more. BTW, if you’re flashing the tune yourself, Kreg will tweak the shift points to be where you want them.

Thanks. Yeah, I had mine tuned by Josh. I'm on the Normal tune. I sure haven't needed the ECT yet but I'm just so happy with it over stock tune, I'm going to stick with this for a while. I am glad Kreg could adjust your tune to fix you up. Maybe I can get a little smarter and flash my own tune later on. Kreg and Dave deserve awards for their efforts to help us enjoy our trucks. They have a lot of time invested.

Can anyone comment on MPG's on pro vs pro+? Currently running pro/normal throttle 87 gas. Sure miss the good ol' days of running 91 non-ethanol........Thanks!

My MPG's have stayed the same on Pro+. I get 16-17mpg in city 18-19mpg on the highway. (87 octane)
My best was 20.1mpg on Pro+ going 70mph with cruise control on and ECT--100 mile trip on hilly highway. (87 octane)
    I have 33" tires and 3" lift.
The reason that we don't make improved mileage claims is because Tacomas and their drivers are so different. Some people can get unreal numbers, it just is hard to get data.
But I will say that the majority of trucks that are tuned get BETTER gas mileage.

Thanks for the info! I’m a reasonable driver. Have a pretty even split (city/hwy) commute. One size up in tires from stock-get around 18. My buddy has the same truck and he has been getting 20+ consistently. These trucks sure do vary!

Just got the pro+ files from Dave, will be flashing tomorrow. Kudos to you guys! Thanks for doing all the tedious work so I can play with my truck!!

Yeah man I tell my customers they "should" see a 2 mpg increase because the majority do. I did a year ago and no matter what I do it stays pretty close to the same.
In 15 months of KDMax tuning I've had 2 customers report a decrease. But they still love it because it runs and shifts and does everything so much better than stock.

None of us understand it but these trucks react differently. Plus people's right foot get into it more because it's just fun. I know I do! :D

Thank You PapaRee Tuning for the above and beyond service you extended to me to build a tune that fit the needs of an OCD individual. Kreg allowed me to try KDMax-Pro normal throttle and KDMax-Pro lite throttle. I was very happy with both tunes and noticed the refined shifting
as compared to the KDMax-6 tune I had been running for the following year. This is where the above and beyond service was tested. I wanted to blend KDMax-pro lite, KDMax-pro normal and KDMax-Pro Plus. In short and after many revisions by Kreg the final tune was as
    follows.
    Throttle - Tip In

1st gear: Difference between KDMax Pro-lite vs KDMax Pro-normal, add 20% of difference to KDMax Pro-lite
2nd gear: Difference between KDMax Pro-lite vs KDMax Pro-normal, add 40% of difference to KDMax Pro-lite
3rd gear: Difference between KDMax Pro-lite vs KDMax Pro-normal, add 60% of difference to KDMax Pro-lite
4th gear: Difference between KDMax Pro-lite vs KDMax Pro-normal, add 80% of difference to KDMax Pro-lite
    5th gear KDMAx Pro-plus-normal
    6th gear KDMAx Pro-plus-normal

Kreg was able to blend the tip in for the 1st through 4th gear and get to normal tip in for 5th and 6th. He was also able to allow me to have Pro shifting 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd, 3rd-4th, and Pro+ shifting (holds shift longer) 4th-5th and 5th-6th.
With this tune and shifting it feels somewhat like a turbo engine. It keeps the engine in the power curve and builds as it up shifts.
I could not be happier with the tune that KDMax - Kreg made for me and all the revisions he was willing to go through. I am not suggesting that others do this, I just wanted everyone to know the customization that is available from KDMax.
This is what customer service looks like folks.

Hope he saves that tune for future use. If you are so happy with it, I'm sure others would be also.

I have the Pro tune...I'm just wondering how on earth I get worse Highway MPGs compared to better MPGs city? Running a 2" lift and 285s with a prinsu roof rack.

    Interesting…
I got my best hwy MPGs when I tried ECT with Regular Cruise Control on the highway. Now when I get up to speed on the highway, that’s how I roll. Each time I’ve gotten 19-20mpg
    Give it a try.

Hey man, I too am using the original OVTUNE 2.0. By chance do you know where I can download the latest tune update? I am tuned to 2.0 premium fuel 5.29 gears and 33 inch tires. I am trying to retune to regular unleaded. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What you want to do is jump off OVTune 2.0 and hit up a better option! In the instance of posting this on a KD thread, means you want/need to purchase an upgrade to the 2.0 tune and need to tag @PapaRee or @TWTaco for a solid product!
