I am personally seeing my around town with +XT improve (slightly). Being on 87 all the time now and still getting 18-19 is reasonable to me for the stop and go. I feel I am not having to use as much throttle so perhaps it's sipping a bit less to get going. I won't get much for hwy miles for another 2-weeks.

Loaded Pro+XT yesterday and went for a 50 mile loop with a lot of hills. Once again @TWTaco and @PapaRee knocked it out of the park! Pulls even better, much smoother and even more smiles per gallon

Damian's 2020 Tacoma is stock with 48k logged. Stock trucks really shine with KDMAX Pro+ and the Lite throttle option!!

This post from jms1 caught my attention, as I’d also wondered if throttle tip-in could be set by gear.

So when the XT tunes came out I asked Kreg if he could give me the +XT tune with the tip-in settings that jms1 laid out.

In true Kreg fashion he said he could do it but needed some time, as he was busy at work… then Presto, in an hour or so the tune was magically in my mailbox.

I’ve run all of the kdmax tunes from 6.0 thru Pro and a couple of customized tunes along the way. This current tune I’m running is the best, by far. The base +XT is a definite improvement over Pro, but with the tip-in settings increasing thru gears the tune is fantastic.

This past weekend I towed my 3,500 lb boat 250 miles and it was by far the best towing experience I’ve had with this truck. Then I made the return trip w/o the boat and into a 15-25 mph head wind. I couldn’t believe how well the truck performed, and I got 21.8 mpg to boot. On the stock tune that drive would have been miserable and it would have been at 16.5 mpg.

I always felt the throttle tip-in settings were a compromise. I never liked the Normal throttle coming off idle and the Lite was fine coming off idle but a bit doggy thru the gears. This tune changes all of that, and 5-6 gears are vastly improved.

If you’re on one of the Lite tunes, give this one a shot. I also believe most people on the Normal tune would prefer this one.

And for god’s sake, if you’re still on the stock tune… just get it done.

Brian and Connor came by yesterday for the Pro+XT tunes on their 18 MT and 17 AT trucks. Updated their ECU’s, put Brian’s MT on Sport and Connor’s AT on Normal. Came back from test drives with the KDMax smiles! Thank you guys for the opportunity to tune your trucks and as always @TWTaco and @PapaRee for making such an awesome product!

I am continually impressed with how my truck is responding to KDMAX Pro+XT. I've put enough mileage on it for solid break in. With the current fuel costs I have unwillingly submitted to 87 for quite some time. With this latest tune release I am getting that balance of available power on demand and still hitting the 18-21 combined mpg. I am impressed and it only makes my wonder how good it would be back on stock tires and factory height.

I am proud to represent this tune and the group that supports it...it really hits it outta the park!

    Thank you!

    Agreed!

I was telling customers two versions ago I don't know how it could get much better, yet here we are!

This review was after his 4 hour drive back home from getting KDMaxxed.

@PapaRee can you comment on mpg observations in +XT vs Pro+ testing? What's the cost of all that MOAR HRSPRS?

Currently running KMDAX Pro Normal with stock gears. Got 285/75r16's and a 2.5" OME lift coming.
Is the new +XT worth updating to?

    It is up to you.
But with the extra power, it will be better for your truck with the bigger tires and lift.
    You won't be disappointed!
