Thank you Dave for re-tuning my 2017 with the KDmax Pro+XT. I was already amazed with the kdmax6.0 but man, this ProXT is in another level. Never thought my 2017 can have this much torque down low and up high. It just feels /drives sooo much lighter . You guys nailed this! Funny thing is I missed the next freeway driving home as I was enjoying the moment ha ha. I noticed this bad boy can now hold 6th gear at 73 going against a strong headwind and slowly accelerate to 77. Just WOW. Shifting is so smooth it’s hard to tell if if shifted to 6th from 5th and vice versa unless I look at the rpm . I did not experience any harddownshift (as what the stock tune is known for).mpg also went up but it’s too early to tell. I’ll update after 2 tanks . I can never imagine how you guys can improve on this. I think this is the Ultimate .

So Im planning on driving right to a tuner when I pick up my Tacoma. Coming from a 4runner and knowing how much of a dog the transmission shifting is. Are their any cons of doing the tune so early?

No cons on doing it early. I have tuned several who came straight from the dealer.

Just the fact that you won’t have a real good feel for what the truck feels like stock and what the tune is really doing. That’s the only negative I can think of. I am glad I waited 1200 miles before my first tune as then I had something to base it off of.

PRO +XT has redefined previous tunes. I drive almost everyday and I really enjoy driving my truck. My truck is stock except I have some fairly heavy Sliders and a Backflip.
The torque added is very noticeable on takeoff and at freeway speeds. Shifting is perfect and It feels like a truck should now. I highly recommend KDMAX for superior service and an exceptional product.

That won't give you much time to feel the pain in order to really appreciate your new tune. I couldn't get my truck tuned quickly enough either. But if you have a 4 Runner, you probably know the pain. Enjoy your new truck and tune. It will be the best mod you will buy.

Finally decided to my truck (2016 DCLB) tuned. I can’t believe I waited so dang long to do it. The KDMAX tube was night and day difference. Super happy with the results

Yes, you won't be able to say "I wish I'd done it sooner".

^^^THIS. I was going to suggest to wait so you can really tell the difference and really feel that you made the right choice with money well spent.

I agree there is no reason to wait, and it is well worth the money spent. But on the other hand if your like me (some are some are not) I scrutinized and analyzed everything. If I didn’t drive mine for a little bit to know how bad it really is I would nit pick the tune to death, lol.

Has anyone noticed an aggressive shift from 1st to 2nd. Typically it’s in stop and go traffic.

Big thanks to @C41n for taking care of me today. He’s a great guy and everything went smoothly. Professional service and my 21 AT drives a lot better. I’m driving more highways now since returning to work in an office and looking forward to the commute even more now!
