I’m on the latest tune (tuned it at 250 miles) and it’s worth the price of admission. 6th gear in these trucks is useless IMHO. I’m a flatlander (Florida) and the downshift from 6th to 5th to 4th then back to 5th then to 6th when traversing an overpass is aggravating. I typically just put it in S mode and lockout 6th gear. RPMs stay up and truck behaves much better. While it’s no big deal to shift to S would it be possible for a tune to perform the same function without having to shift to S mode? Asking out of ignorance.

6th gear can be adjusted to a much higher speed to keep the truck in 5th if that’s what you want. For example, I can make it where it would not shift to 6th till 75-80 (or higher if you wanted)
I had one guy who wanted ECT like this- basically no 6th gear.

Did the +XT Normal Tune this morning myself. Process was simple and @PapaRee was great to work with.

I've not had time to let the tune fully settle in, but off the line, it's so much better and it's dropping into 5 and 6 gear much more readily on small uphill grades vs the stock tune.

    No regrets!

    Glad you like it!
    Glad to help.

I have been getting good/better MPG's on the KDMax-Pro+XT. I am seeing 18mpg with my truck pretty regularly.
33" tires, 3 inch lift. Not sure if it is improving over time by learning my driving or if it is better gas or just a very efficient tune!
But I am happy with the improvement and the enjoyment of driving my truck. :muscleflexing:

My Pro+XT tune is just about at the 300 mile mark (yea, I don't drive a lot lol). This was the trip I just got home from. All in town with traffic lights. Granted my truck is stock with the only added weight being a BakFlip G2 tonneau, but I'm pretty satisfied:

John @GPatriot did my 2016 this morning. Within 30 seconds of driving I could feel how much more responsive and linear the power band felt. Shifts are smoother, specifically when downshifting to go uphill/accelerate. And an added bonus I haven’t seen many people mention, the pinging that some of these trucks experience on 87 seems to have gotten better. A hotter day will confirm or deny that.

Long story short, if you don’t have this tune and think your truck drives just fine….it doesn’t. Get the tune. I was mostly used to how it drove with the newest ECU update, but it’s night and day now.

Fellas - if you want to actually go when you press the gas pedal - get the KD Max tune!!! My truck is less than a week old, and I liked it before. Now I LOVE it!

I had the awesome opportunity to meet a good man from about an hour away. He came to get his beautiful manual transmission Tacoma the lastest KDMaxx XT tune. We had to jump through some hoops to get it done but he left happy with the sport throttle setting. We were able to hangout and chat for quite a bit and I was more than happy to make a good man happier with his beauty of a Tacoma.

Had a phenomenal gentleman come by our shop to get his truck tuned with the KDMaxx XT normal throttle setting. Had a good time hanging out and chatting. Fun test ride around my neighborhood and was able to get another Tacoma owner in, out and happy with the KDMaxx tune :) D2F4F1E5-CD79-4A5A-8DBB-2C225C5E301A.jpg

I recently bought a 22’ DCSB. I had this installed over a week ago with just under 1,400 miles. It was fine initially, but now the truck is worse than it has even been. It almost feels like someone is trying to apply the brakes while you are driving. It is really disappointing… I’m not saying everyone will run into this, but to say I’m a little nervous at the moment would be an understatement. I am trying to get the tune removed, but I am waiting to hear back from the tuner. I’ll keep this updated once I get the tune removed.

Possibly a reflash is needed . Yeah wait to hear back from your tuner . I'm sure this will get resolved.

The tune (or any tune) has never had this type of report. I would say to flash it back to stock and get the dealership to check out your truck.
I will help you in any way to get in touch with your tuner.
    PM me.
