Anyone who needs the throttle lower, I made a new file with the 1st thru 3rd gear throttle lowered 15% more from 0-13%.

You can do either on the MT. From the factory, everything is different per gear. With 2.0 everything is controlled by the same set of tables.

most of the MT guys want consistency, so being the same per gear is preferred.

thanks for the info. Figured an aggressive tip in on first gear would make driving slowly jerky with slight throttle but allow for easier acceleration 2nd through 6th

    Yep.

.. and it would be very helpful IMO if there was a patch to increase the PTETG1 table size in the horizontal axis (throttle angle).
The idea would be to give more resolution in throttle control (yes I know there's a bunch more tables involved).
Mat did something similar with ignition a while back.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
review time for me. like most, i went from 2.0 reg/stock/33/thx, which was awesome compared to stock. zero complaints.
being how the rest of us are and how “we cant leave shit alone”, i went to krusier 4.0, even more badass.
now im on kdmax, truck is now super smooth through the gears. highway is great (full tq lock up??) when i stomp it, drops to 4th and rolls. i have an intake and exhaust, probably doesnt help, but it gets loud when you get on it.

Sweet! Are you running. Heavier weights? (tire/lift/equipment) I ordered 5.29 gears with REM polish from Nitro Gear just waiting for them to be in stock. My truck is stock and curious to see the difference running these gears with KDMax.

Sounds like the SLT pack may be the route to go but will see how it runs on prem/reg tip in and adjust from there.

yes full steel skids, sliders, diamondback hd, 33s & a bin of recovery gear in the back.

After a week of running the lighter tip in I'm now running the regular LT tune :anonymous:
I just needed my toes to get used to the ‘new’ pedal. Id suggest to everyone to try the LT for a week before requesting a lighter tip in if you still think you need it.

Good deal, decided to go reverse order and just future proof the truck with 5.29 gears then over time load her up! Already went with regular tip in definitely love the feel and will stick with it for now. Let me know how you think about running regular tip in after some time.

Also where did you get your gears installed? I’ll be making a trip back out to Socal later in the year and thinking about either getting my gears installed in Phoenix or Riverside by then just not sure yet.

VFtune emailed my Master Key today and I loaded up the KDMAX 6.0 LT tune. For those 1st timers, like me, the process I used is shown below.

After a quick test ride on both freeway and city streets, I can say the KDMax 6.0 tune is As Advertised.

In stock form I considered my 2021 OR DC a TURD and wonder how Toyota has been able to sell so many of these things. This truck replaced a V6 RAV4 which was the best vehicle I've ever owned. The RAV had a superb motor/trans combo and moving to the Tacoma was a major disappointment. After one test drive on the KDMax 6.0 tune I no longer have any complaints with the truck.

I'll post another review after I get 1k miles on this tune

    1. Load VF Tuner program

    a. Fill out registration information which requires a “Master Key”- provided via email by VF Tune

    2. Install Drivers

    a. VFtuner -> Help -> Driver Installation

    3. Unzip the KDmax tune file to your desired location on the Windows filesystem

    4. Read ECU

    a. Internet connection to laptop required

    b. Connect laptop to vehicle thru OBDII port

    c. Press start button twice w/o foot on brake (do not start motor)

    d. VFtuner -> Flash ECU -> Read ECU (this process took at least 10 minutes on my vehicle)

    5. Prepare ECU

    a. Internet connection to laptop required

    b. VFtuner -> Flash ECU -> Prepare ECU

    c. The program will ask if you want to license the vehicle (4 credits required)

    6. Calibrate ECU with KDmax tune

    a. VFtuner -> Flash ECU -> Select Calibration File -> Navigate to desired file and select Open -> Calibrate ECM

    b. Note: This process cannot be interrupted

    c. VFtuner will prompt “Flashing Complete”

    d. Start vehicle

Would it be possible to control tip in with the ECT button? Or am I just dreaming?

    Example:
ECT enabled = aggressive tip in
ECT disabled = light/stock-ish tip in
