Got the Kruiser put on my truck today by @dutchcontractor and noticed a difference immediately, I have never done the regular OV Tune so I can't compare I just know it's a ton better right away. One of my biggest issues was when you slow way down to turn it's like it shifts as high as it can while your foot is off the pedal, this was fixed right away which is awesome. Also noticed it's so much easier to hold a speed with your foot, seemed like I had to keep changing pedal pressure to catch back up all the time.

    Awesome job on the tune

Thanks @TacoManOne for the tune this morning! Good to meet you and chat. Just a short drive I know something has changed. The pedal now feels like its properly connected. Will give a good review when I get some milage on it.

Things to know: there can be as much as you’re willing to get involved. On the other hand, you can just flash and drive. Happy to chat this through with you if you’d like.
Octanes: I’d suggest running the “regular” tune if you’re in the habit of filling up with 89. You’ll be happy with the results and will reserve the “safety” of running octane at that level. @PapaRee runs the regular tune with higher octane (I believe), so there’s something to be said about running a lower octane tune and filling up with ANYTHING. That’s what I used to do, but now run the premium tune as I’ve always used 91.
Drawbacks: I’m assuming you’re asking about the tune in general. If so, ZERO. You only stand to gain balls for your truck.
Off-road: behaves as expected. I run the regular tip in version as opposed to the light tip in version because I love the on road characteristics. Yes, the throttle is a bit more touchy, but nothing that I haven’t appreciated. It will respond different than OV 2.0 for sure. If you don’t like it, you can always swap. I’ll say that I do A LOT of off-roading and have not had trouble controlling the throttle. That said, I have a nearly stock truck, not a 4-linked rock crawler. It suites me well.
Temperatures: Doesn’t get as hot here in Sparks as it does in Death Valley, but the truck handles temps very well here. Slow speeds, excessive idle, and towing are always going to be scenarios to be more mindful of. Even stock, I monitored temps (among other things) using OBD Fusion. There’s other apps though. That’s just the one I use.

Hope this answers your questions buddy. If not, feel free to PM me

Edit: Regarding tip in- not sure I spoke to that particularly, so to explain: tip in is the response you get from the truck from the initial travel of the throttle. Higher tip in means the truck will be more sensitive to the initial travel of the gas pedal.

another thing to consider on octane is if someone borrows your truck and fills it up to thank you they probably won’t do high octane.

For sure. Not sure who, but dudes make stickers to put on the inside of your gas-hole door that say “Premium Only” or something like that.

DUDDEEEEE...This is goddamn insane. I don't know how much better it's gonna get after 4-500 miles. But after installing the tune, the difference I felt was instant. As I stepped on the pedal the truck just went. I thought I was driving my girlfriend's Rav4 for a second lol. The "sluggishness" is no longer here. However, when I stepped on it trying to merge into the freeway, there's a bit of a delay like someone already mentioned. Besides that, everything is as smooth as butter man. holy shit.

I just quickly put it on S mode then press on the pedal then back to D when merged or passed another vehicle safely.

Got my KDMAX regular 87 tune Saturday from Scott in Jacksonville, G8R_Taco on here.
    Great guy and highly recommended.
Now on to the tune. I have a 21 and really thought I did not need a tune as it drove so much better than my 18 or my 19.
But I was wrong, my 21 has been reborn and drives sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better.
The work put into this tune is evident from the moment you drive away and continues to make you smile mile after mile.
This is the best money you will ever spend on your truck, so if thinking about a tune, find a tuner and get it done, you will never regret the decision.
If in North Florida or South Georgia area, Scott will hook you up.
    I love my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
