I wanted to drop a review on the new 9.0 tune. I have been on OV since jan of 2020, ever since @PapaRee & @TWTaco were able to start self tuning, and datalogging, I have had their latest tune. after the latest rounds of more parameters available to the Pro Tuners for OV, and this latest tune... I can tell you, if you are on the fence, drop the coin and do it.

they are making great gains from the toyota translogic, and the cruise control logic, is the best it has been since I have owned the truck. No more violent downshifts (unless you ask for it), or premature upshifts (hated that). nice, linear, peppy when needed, docile when not needed. the best way to put it is, you dont know, or feel the truck is doing anything odd. I am always feeling or looking for something the truck is doing oddly, especially in std cruise. it always felt odd, and shifted at the wrong times, up hill and downhill. this tune doesnt give me any of that negative feedback.

I think the big thing with this latest tune (to me) is how long it holds 5th gear, instead of going to 6th. this prevents that chugging feeling, when driving by foot from 40-60 mph like you manually had the truck in too high of a gear but, the truck wont shift down. like being in the wrong gear on a motorcycle, feeling. that is all but gone with 9.0.

I know it has been said before but, this is how this truck should have acted from the beginning but, Toyota was hamstrung by the EPA for emissions and fuel economy.

I want to give a big shout out to Kreg, and Dave, and all the tuners, and beta testers, for all the time and effort they put into all this datalogging, and updating the tunes/flashes to get to us.

keep up the great work guys! Ski

I've only had my truck for about 6 months or so and this is by far my favorite mod. It's like a completely different truck. Much much more enjoyable to drive. I've only driven it around for a day and will update you guys with my findings. Dave is a true professional, met up with me at a location of my choosing at 6AM! Answered all my questions about the tune and other mods. Great communication and support after the tune. KDMAX and Dave, you guys have a customer for life!

Yesterday I upgraded from Pro XT+ to Pro 9.0
I was only able to do a few miles on the freeway and a few stop and go...Leaving the house I already notice it's much more refined on holding the gears, and the shifting was so much smoother than before. I didn't think I would notice any difference. Then, when I got on the freeway to join the other crazies on the road...I noticed that I just got a new truck again! I can feel more power, smoother shifting, and the gears are holding where it should be as needed. How could they possibly keep improving this tune??? I'm really glad I could do this by myself whenever there's an update. I didn't know about this new version until I got the tune files PM from @PapaRee, Thank you!

I’m a few tanks in on the 9.0 and it’s all settled in. I am really enjoying driving my truck. Super smooth and nice power band.
