I'm on vacation right now, so I won't be able to try 9.0 out until Saturday. I need to just bring VFTuner with me whenever I go from now on. I will be trying out the Lite setting for the first time. I've never ran anything but the Sport setting. I think the Lite setting makes more sense now that it is winter here and the roads have already been bad in some spots this past week. I can't wait to try this out. It looks like Lite is the way to go right now based on the comments.

I admire all of you that have your throttle set on lite or normal, because I just can't do it. Too much hot rodder in me.
But so far, I too am loving the 9.0.

    Same same.
Looking forward to the upgrade from kdmax+ to 9.0.
Tried normal for a few days on MT and was good but sport generated the right vroom vroom sounds at launch.

Met up with Chase in Ocean Beach SD with his 2018 OR. Chase hated the way his truck drove and wasn't driving it much. He heard about our tune and had to have it.
Got him tuned on the new Pro-9.0 with Normal throttle. We went out for a test drive and his eyes lit up and that familiar "SMILE :D" came across his face.He was truly amazed how much the tune improved his truck. He later texted me on his highway drive to work that his truck is so much fun to drive. He only wished he heard of the tune sooner.
It was really nice meeting you Chase. Let us know how your enjoying the Pro-9.0

    Too many to count
In regards to updating from KDMax 6.0 to 9.0 on a manual, I know there is a performance increase with extra torque and a few other things, but what I'm more curious about is whether rev hang was ever able to be eliminated? I remember seeing something about it possibly making it's way into VFTuner, but never saw anything concrete.

There were no new settings in VFtuner specifically for rev hang that I saw. But the KDMax-Pro-9.0 is definitely an improvement. The ones that we have upgraded are very happy.
@JDSmith and @banjoist13 can elaborate, they are manuals.

    6 inch lift 35/12.50 R18 Tires/wheels
Question: Anyone on here running a 6 inch lift or bigger with 35's with the tune? If so can you spare details on how the tune is working for you? I currently am running the valley runner tune which has helped but could use improvements and my tuner is suggesting the KDMax.

    Thank you!! :bananadance:

And @shotgunbilly420 has been recording excellent mileage with his truck and tune if that’s a concern.

@JManning1423 There is still some but it is improved with 9.0 but that could be my driving style. Have you done the accumulator delete mod yet? It makes it easier to modulate how the clutch engages so you can more easily deal with any rev hang.

It also hops right off the line with no delay. Of course, for me, my truck is on 5.29 gearing so it has much more low end and I sometimes start in 2nd. I also run the sport throttle since my truck is so heavy. One of the biggest changes in the new tune is the smoothness of the throttle at low speeds especially when compression braking. All other tunes I have ever run had a little hop in the throttle when compression braking to maintain low speeds but the new one doesn't. It is by far the best manual tune I have ever experienced. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Chris @4run4yu came in with his really nice 2018 4Runner. We got him flashed to the new Pro-9.0 He is really enjoying the power and response. No more gear hunting and he was amazed at how smooth the shifting is now. He will report back with MPG numbers after a couple tanks ran through it. It was good meeting you. You have done a great job with your 4Runner.
